Adjust your camera level for lock-off shots on a variety of support platforms with the Kupo Universal Camera Ball Leveling Head. It features a solid ball sandwiched between a top and bottom plate, and it supports up to 75 pounds of camera. The level can be locked or loosened easily with the ergonomic tightening lever, which has holes drilled on the side for when you need to add a lever for additional leverage. The bottom plate is 3/8" thick and has 3/8" through-holes set 1" on-center, matching the industry-standard pattern. The top plate features a 3/8" wide slot that is about 4" long, allowing you to mount a camera directly onto it or a variety of camera mounting plates, including an ARRI sliding baseplate.

A: I think it can be removed, but not replaced with a different size screw. The screw at the top has an allen wrench opening.

A: This is unlikely. The bubble level is recessed slightly and would not get touched by the head. The thing you should be aware of is your bubble level will be covered. You may want to get a separate bubble level.

Q: 6. Does the 438 works with the MT055XPRO3 tripod and the MVH502AH fluid head?

A: Yes it does, and it is very well made. Although this setup is mostly used forvideo, it also works like a ball head and a gimbal head all in one when using a lens with a lens collar or camera with an L bracket.

Q: 7. What is the range of adjustment of this adapter? For example the RRS TA3 leveling base has an adjustment range of +- 15...

A: Yes. Most 75mm leveling adapters have a leveling base of 15mm which is industry standard.

A: No the knob can not be repositioned.

Q: 9. Any experience with this leveling device with Girzo gt 3532 mountaineer. Does it work with this tripod???

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 438 Compact Leveling Head has a 3/8" screw opening at the bottom and has a flat base. The Gitzo GT3532 Mountaineer Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod has a 3/8" screw and has a flat base as well, so they are compatible with each other.

Q: 10. Is the 438 leveling head oil/grease lubricated, or is it dry ?

A: The Manfrotto 438 is greased.

[7.895 lb] This is a well made product! It has a baby pin receiver on one side and 3/8" male ball head or any tripod head with flat base. Also, you can drop this into junior pin receiver in heavy stands! 5

[Aluminum] I’m a Kupo fan, but in fairness use other brands as well. Of all my stands and accessories, Kupo is at the top for their quality of build and engineering. They are just better and more heavy duty than others. It’s stuff that will last you a lifetime as a hobbyist and a long time as a pro. This ball head adapter is no exception. You won’t regret having Kupo. Recommended. 5

[2.17" / 5.5 cm] The hole at the bottom is off centre for some reason. Probably the thicker side wall of the female receptor is to provide enough threads and strength to the two 3/8 side holes where the tightening knob is threaded. I don't mind the semi-polished silver finish. The adapter works as designed. Delivery was a fast 3 days to Ontario, Canada. 5

[2.17" / 5.5 cm] I've been using this little guy to mount a tripod head (and camera) to a C-stand boom arm so that I can get top-down overhead shots with much more flexibility and height than trying to screw around with a tripod. Pro tip: grind a flat spot on your boom arm's baby head pin, and then align the set screw on this adapter to that flat spot when you tighten it down... then it can't rotate at all on the baby head pin. I have ground flat spots into all of my booms, arms, and C-stand heads for this purpose. 5

[7.895 lb] This Kupo Baby Ball Head Adapter makes my work easier when transporting lighting and camera gear to a photo assignment. My Gitzo tripod with Gitzo Telescopic Center Column and Arca Swiss d4 tripod head is heavy to move from point A to Z and back to A on location. I can bring 3 light stands of varying load capacities on location. Use any one of the stands as a tripod with a medium weight tripod ball head and I am good. 5
