A: Yes, you can do so with an Tricaster Mini. Access up to 4 live Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) robotic cameras via standard serial and network protocols, with native preset system and user interface control over camera orientation, zoom, focus and iris.

Q: 5. PoE+ switches have a max WATT limit.What is the WATT budget required for a PoE+ hub to connect up to 4 of these cameras? I can't find anywhere the max WATT a camera needs when powered over Ethernet.

A: Specifications on Panasonic web site indicates Power requirements for PoE+ power supply is DC 42V to 57V and Current consumption of 0.4A per camera. Using an online calculator, that brings up the Watts requirement to about 23W. So for 4 cameras, a 100W switch should be sufficient. I got the Linksys 24-Port Business Gigabit PoE+ Switch (LGS124P) which supports 120W and I have 4 PoE+ Panasonic cameras hooked up to it and have not had problems. Switch fan is kind of loud though.

Q: 6. Where does the power go in? I do not see a power plug connection on the back. In SPECS it says "Power Connector - JEITA Type". That should mean there is a round "barrel" power connection.

A: The rear of the Thor 1080p 3G/HD-SDI/HDMI/IP Streaming Box Camera with 20x Optical Zoom (B&H# THMAXH265PRO) features a 12VDC input port immediately adjacent to the RS485 port. The included 12VDC power adapter will connect to that. While it's true that it does not use a barrel connector, JEITA-conformant products cover a wide range of different specifications.

Q: 7. I currently have 3 AW-HE60HN models. How will this model compare and can I control it with the AW-RP50 Remote Camera Controller and the AW-RM50 Wireless Remote Control?

A: The AW-HE40HK is clearly superior for it has a much larger sensor, a 1/2.3 vs. 1/3 for increased image quality. You also get a much longer 30x optical zoom vs. a 18x. You can control it with the two controls you mention. You also have the great flexibility of controlling it from a remote location via a Web browser via its IP address.

Q: 8. Can it be utilized outside in inclement weather conditions? If so, Please provide the MTTFF and MTBF?

A: No, the Thor Satellite L-Band RF over Fiber Transmitter and Receiver Kit is not waterproof. This unit would need to be mounted in NEME4 waterproof enclosure. Also, the failure rate is very low, it is about 1 % in 2 years of operation.

Q: 9. If you display the histogram on the monitor does that overlay appear on the loop through signal as well?

A: On the Andycine A7- 4K HDMI & 3G-SDI Input/Output 1920x1200 On-Camera Monitor, as with other similar monitors, the HDMI loop through is a bypass signal, carrying over the image from the input. It will not carry over displays from the monitor.

Q: 10. This camera has an ethernet plug. Can this camera be powered with power over ethernet camera? (PoE)?

A: The Thor 1080p 3G/HD-SDI/HDMI/IP Streaming Box Camera with 20x Optical Zoom does not support POE power.

[20 W] I ordered these Thor Fiber units as a suggestion from a pal; boy am I glad I took his advice. These little babies are awesome! and for the price they can't be beat. On top of that they had awesome tech support and helped get my issue resolved pertaining to frame rate as soon as I called. I'll be using these for now versus spending a small fortune on Telecast every time I need a quick fix. 5

[20 W] I purchase it as a 2 channel HDMI QAM modulator, Video quality is amazing, now i realized that I can also use it for IPTV streaming over our network, we streem 2 programs from Direct Tv Set top box to any of our 240 computers in our building , I search the net , i would need to pay more just for the IP streamers - good value 5

[20 W] This is the second AW-HE40 that our church has bought. We purchased the first one over 2 years ago. The camera works very well. The zoom and low-light performance is great. We use it with a network connection that provides POE. There is about a .25 second delay in the video over the network. I'm not sure if the delay is the same when using a HDMI connection. The interface API to control the device is pretty simple. I wrote an application to remotely control the camera using a X-box controller. 5

[20 W] The HE40SW was our choice over the HDMI version for a number of reasons. firstly, We use CAT6 (POE) and an SDI cable and that's it. This means I don't need to run separate power. 2 Cables and the cameras are up and running. SDI also gives us much longer cable runs than HDMI and using the BlackMagic Television Studio 4k means we have no converters. 5
