Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the D-tap on the left side going to block card access when a cable is plugged in?

A: No, The Dtap connector on the left side of the Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 V-Mount will not block access of the Memory cards when being used.

Q: 2. I'd like to run gold mount power to a remote FX6. Is there a DC extender cable that would work w this unit?

A: The Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 Type II (Gold Mount) (B&H# TIST20BTP2AB) could be part of a solution to power a Sony FX6 even if it's not mounted within just a few inches of the camera. It features a female D tap port (14.4V) and if combined with a cable like the IndiPRO Tools Regulated D-Tap to DC Barrel Power Cable for Sony PXW-FX9 (36") (B&H# INDTSFX9) then you could position it up to a few feet away (about 0.9m): https://bhpho.to/33ZMffQ

Q: 3. What is the spacing on the rod mounts? can it be mounted to rods on a baseplate?

A: Battery Plate for Sony FX6 Type II mounts via 15mm LWS rods. If your baseplate uses 15mm rods, then it will be able to mount to it.

Q: 4. Will this unit work with the Sony FX9 as well? I believe the FX6 and FX9 have same power requirements, bu would this Tilta ES-T20-BTP-V fit into the FX9 battery compartment?

A: The FX6 and FX9 have the same power requirements but this product is designed for the size of the FX6. The FX6 is smaller than the FX9 which may present problems if you attempt to use it on the FX9.

Q: 5. Can you use this without mounting it to a top plate?

A: Yes, the Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 attaches to the Sony FX6's battery slot.

Q: 6. Will this work for the Z-Cam E2-F6?

A: The Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 (V-Mount) is only intended for use with the Sony Fx6.

Q: 7. Can I power the plate and camera without a battery via the 2pin Lemon to AC power?

A: The 2-Pin LEMO connection on the Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 (V-Mount) is designed only for output and not input. The plate would need a battery in order to supply power to the camera.

Q: 8. When the V-mount battery goes low, does the camera's LCD screen give a warning?

A: No, the Tilta Battery Plate does not provide battery status communication to the LCD of the camera.

Q: 9. will this worked flipped around? I.e. with the rods on the bottom instead of above.

A: While it is possible to mount the Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 Type II (Gold Mount) with the 15mm rods on the bottom, the DC plug would be on the wrong side of the camera and may not reach the DC input on the camera.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with the FS5?

A: No it is not.

[Gold Mount] Very low profile which is nice for the FX6 but honestly it's probably overkill since the standard Sony BPU batteries last so long.

[Connector] This unit is solid, it mounts firmly, gives you a bunch of auxiliary power out options and most importantly I have had no voltage issues. I've been using it for over a year, powering the camera and my Bolt 3000. The negative review is unfounded. It uses the DC power in port and not the native battery connection but who cares! You're not going to use that port for anything when you're shooting. Reliability and technical interface are the important components. This hits the mark for both at a very reasonable price.

[0.78 lb] Not much to say. It does exactly what it says it does and I've had no issues with it.

[Connector] I have no problems with the design, and it has one huge advantage: with the battery in you can press the camera to your chest for handheld work.

[Connector] no issues whatsoever. have this and the top plate on my fx6 and it's a perfect combo. doesnt overheat, the ports are solid, and with good vmount batteries you'll be shooting all day without incident. I get several hours out of 1 battery while shooting on my fx6 with audio and using a ninja v.

[Gold Mount] I have 2 of these, one for each FX6. So far they're a great addition, especially as they allow for hot-swapping of batteries.

[Gold Mount] Snaps right in and gives me power to my FX6 from a Core 98 for over 5 hours. I do mostly interviews, so I feel comfortable using it without screwing it in to a top plate. This gives me the option to quickly switch to bp batts for when the camera needs to be small. I would probably screw it in for run and gun stuff

[1] I've used this to power my Sony FX6 cameras for over a year and they have worked flawlessly. Great price and highly recommended compared to competitor's offerings.

[1] I've tried everything for my FX6 rig... believe me, and this really is the best option on the market. Unless you want significantly more weight to your rig, and cables galore; this is the one. But as always, nothing is perfect.

The only negatives I've found are that the top 15mm rod adapter on the right side (camera-right) can't be mounted on the back spot without removing the rear shoulder strap mount. Also, if you're using the camera-left side d-tap port on the v-mount plate, the cable blocks the media slots, which isn't a huge deal but it can get annoying.

Everything else is perfect. You can't go wrong.

[Gold Mount] If you mess with it after first adding it to the camera's battery mount, it is easy to think, well this isn't very sturdy but after several months of...tough love...this piece is still solid as ever and hasn't let me down yet.
