This Vazen 65mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens RF Mountfrom Vazen 65mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens RF Mountcreates a 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio for cinematic imagery with the signature anamorphic look on cameras with an RF mount. This 65mm prime lens features a front anamorphic element with a 1.8x squeeze, and it is suitable for use on cameras such as the Panasonic GH5, the Z CAM E2, or the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K.

Lightweight at about 3.7 pounds and relatively small for an anamorphic lens, the lens won't interfere with a fast and energetic shooting style. The 300° of focus rotation allows for precise focus control—so important when shooting with anamorphic lenses—and the 3.6' minimum focus distance provides a wide range of focus for getting in tight to your subject without needing additional optical attachments. This lens, as with the 28 and 40mm lenses in the Vazen series, features a 95mm front diameter to fit standard matte boxes and make for fast lens swaps.

A: At this time there are no RF to EF lens adapters that would allow the Vazen 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (RF Mount) lens to mount to a C300 camera model.

A: It cannot be used with a camera that has a PL Mount. This is an MFT mount lens.

A: At this time there appears to be no plans to make a EF mount version of the Vazen 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens for Micro Four Thirds Cameras.

Q: 9. What is the image circle in cm?

A: The image circle of this lens is information Vazen has not released. However, since this is for Micro Four Thirds sensors whose diagonal is 22.5 mm, we can assume the lens's image circle is at least that size.

Q: 10. What is the field of view when used on BMPCC 4K? Does the MFT sensor introduce a crop?

A: The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x crop factor. This would be the equivalent of a 53mm lens.

[Imperial] Coming from spherical lenses - the price tag might seems high - especially for a relatively unknown brand. But it’s actually very affordable compared to the competition ! Anything cheaper for full frame will fake some of the characteristic of anamorphic lenses, and have no or very low squeeze. I wish it had a 2x squeeze - but the 1.8 squeeze probably allow to slightly more affordable price - while being optimal for 16:9 sensors, that are most likely what you’ll use it on... Paired with a A7siii the image quality is amazing ! I recommend pairing this with a monitor that allow you to see the desqueezed image, as it can be fairly hard to focus without it, and framing as well can be challenging. For an anamorphic lens, it’s very sharp, even wide open, I mostly shoot at T4 though mostly because it can be challenging to nail focus with this kind of lenses, as they’re slightly softer than spherical (not in a bad way, image is very pleasing), similar to using a light diffusion filter. Overall, I totally recommend this lens, hopefully we see a 2x version soon too ! Also, if you’re in a limited budget, I would recommend the 40mm MFT version paired with a Blackmagic pocket 4K... the package would come to $4500 vs $12000... for a little more than 1/3 of the price, result is very close. The A7siii has an edge in low light obviously but if you’re using even minimal lighting (which you should), it shouldn’t be an issue. The blackmagic has the advantage of having a bigger screen - easier to manually focus without monitor. Both are fantastic combos - and a lot cheaper than Cooke paired with an Alexa ... 5

[Canon RF] This thing is sharp at t2 which is not common amongst anamorphic lenses. Paired with a z cam e2, black magic 4K or GH5 and you have a killer anamorphic setup for an affordable price. Well built and a ton of fun to use. 5

[T16] Alright, this is my first anamorphic and cinema lens. I went back and forth for about a year on what would be my first cinema lens and i went this route based on the few videos i have seen on youtube. I'm not a professional in the filmmaking world (trying though) however I know quality and art when I see it. [T16] I bought this lens due to having an ease of use rather then my Projection Lens set up.For an Anamorphic Lens,this lens is quite Sharp.The Anamorphic characteristics are quite on par with a lot of the more expensive ones.A lot of people complain that this lens is heavy.Well,what anamorphic lens that has a 1.8-2x stretch which are not? In fact this has to be the lightest 1.8-2x stretch anamorphic lens to date.That was before the 28mm though.For a telephoto anamorphic lens that has a close to 2x stretch which brings out true anamorphic characteristics,its a no brainer.Amazing that we live in times where we can actually own one of this kind of lenses.Ohh did i mention the price? Cheapest out there for a 1.8x.Thats right. 5

[Imperial] I have all four lenses. Red Komodo creates Beautiful footage combine with this Lenses. 24, 35 need to be cropped in postproduction. Caution: These lenses are intended for use in filmmaking and are not suitable for fast-paced environments, ceremonies, or documentaries. 5

[Canon RF] This lens is nothing short of amazing. Sharp - even wide open, at 2.8/4 you wouldn’t want the image any sharper. Flare is beautiful, squeeze and bokeh looks amazing... A real anamorphic lens for this price - paired with a Blackmagic pocket 4K - it’s an amazing combo ! My favorite - personally.
