The NiSi Lens Hood Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 112Mm Filterfrom NiSi Lens Hood Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 112Mm Filteris an upgraded redesign of the hood included with the Nikon Z 14-24mm F/2.8 S lens, which allows light to enter from behind, causing lens flare and making it unsuitable for long exposures and night time photography. The design of this NiSi hood incorporates a gasket to eliminate light leaks for better performance with long exposures and when using ND filters.

This aluminum hood features the same petal-shaped design and dimensions found on the original Nikon HB-97 lens hood, but it also includes a 112mm front filter thread for easily installing or changing filters. The hood features a locking screw to keep the hood attached to the lens safely and securely, and it is compatible with the Nikon LC-Z1424 front lens cap.

[112 mm] I was never very happy with the original Nikon hood for the Z 14-24mm F/2.8s lens because of what I felt was a poor design due to all of the openings around the area where it joins with the lens. It worked but there was a lot of room for improvement in my opinion. This NiSi Lens Hood is made of what appears to be a high quality aluminum, finished very nicely, has clean sharp threads cut in it and a method to securely attach the hood to the lens without causing any physical damage. The fit of this hood to the lens is much tighter and does not allow for the entry of any extraneous light, or dust and dirt, to enter the area between the front lens element and the back of the filter attached to the hood. Very smooth accurate fit to the lens, easy to install and remove. An added bonus is that this hood fits the Z 24-70mm F/2.8 S, the Z 70-200mm F/2.8 s as well as the Z 14-24mm F/2.8 S. I am now able to leave the NiSi ND filter in the hood permanently and just switch out the hood on the lens I am using at the time (factory hoods have clear filters installed) - works great ! ! I will most likely purchase another one of these lens hoods and add another NiSi ND filter to it. Will make changing filters back and forth on the above listed lenses quick and easy. I would recommend this product and will purchase it again in the future. 5

[112 mm] That hood replaces the original Nikon hood. It fits much better/tighter on the lens, which avoids light leakages when using strong ND filters. I am happy to own it. Nikon did very well with the idea of their do-two lens hood for the Z14-24 but unfortunately this well thought out idea hasn't been properly realised. So, this hood is the solution. 5

[Bayonet] Chose this filter due to its lower price. I am satisfied with the quality. Fits the Nikon Z 14-24mm via one of the lens hoods. It comes with a case, which is nice because my filter case does not fit the 112mm filter. I have a UV filter on all of my lenses to avoid getting the glass scratched. So far so good. Well worth the money! 5

[Aluminum] The NiSi lens hood is a definite upgrade above the stock lens hood supplied by Nikon. The NiSi lens hood is a solid built out of aluminum which will provide extra protection for the lens. The HB-97 lens cover that comes standard with the Nikon Z 14-24 fits the NiSi lens hood like a glove. Looking forward to pairing this lens hood with Kase Wolverine magnetic filters in the near future. 5

[Bayonet] The NiSi 112mm is a life saver for my new 14-24mm S Nikon lens. After over 300 photos with this filter I have have experienced no interference in regards to flare, glare etc. Also, the added lens protection is great. The size of the filter for me is not an issue in any way. Get it, set it and forget it. 5

[Aluminum] There was no way to use the NISi filter with my 14-24mm lens until I bought this lens hood. It fits perfectly and the filter fits into the lens hood nicely. 5
