Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this device work with the Nucleus Nano?

A: Yes it will, you will just need the Tilta Micro-USB to Micro-USB Motor Power Cable for Nucleus-Nano to connect from this grip to the Nano for power. https://bhpho.to/2YeWnub

Q: 2. Is this reversible so one can use it on the right side?

A: it is possible to mount this on the right but the handle would be backwards and the control wheel on the opposite of the intended side

Q: 3. Does this work with the tilta nucleus m motors?

A: No, the cable is designed and made for the Tilta Side Power Handle Run/Stop Cable for Panasonic GH4/5/5s and S1H.

Q: 4. Will this work on my older Tilta TT-0509 to a LUMIX S1H, or do I need a new handle for this?

A: No, the Tilta Side Power Handle Run/Stop Cable for Panasonic GH4/5/5s and S1H is incompatible with the Tilta Wooden Right Hand Grip with Record Start/Stop Remote Trigger for Sony a7/ARRI/RED Camera. The control cable is compatible with the Tilta Tiltaing Side Power Handle with Run/Stop Type II (F570, Tilta Gray). See the link below: https://bhpho.to/3X8FHT4

Q: 5. Is there a setting on the GH5 or S1H to enable this cable to work? I installed it between my Tilta TA-SFH4-57-G focus control grip and the GH5, but neither camera respond when hitting the control grip's record button.

A: This is the incorrect cable for Run/ stop on the GH5. The correct cable is the following. Tilta Run/Stop Cable for Tiltaing Side Focus Handle (Panasonic GH/S Series) BH #TIRSTA2GHS

Q: 6. Can this trigger Record on the Canon C70?

A: No it can not. You will need to use the Tiltaing Advanced Camera Kit for Canon C70 (Black) (BH #TITAT12DB • MFR #TA-T12-D-B) to trigger Run/Stop on the C70.

Q: 7. Will it work well with the Smallrig BMPCC 4K/6K camera cage?

A: This is designed for Tiltaing camera cages only. It may not properly connect with Smallrig cages and is not recommended for them

Q: 8. can the TILTA DB-DC-LEP6 dummy battery cable be used in the 12V output, or is it up uping the voltage from the Sony 7.4 battery to 12V somehow?

A: According to Tilta MFR #TA-SH3-97-G will not work with MFR #TA-SH3-97-G as the cable size is too large. You will need a LP-E6 to 3.5/1.35mm DC Male Dummy Battery for that handle. The 12V port up regulates and the dummy battery down regulates so you will have the correct voltage for an LP-E6. https://bhpho.to/38kfDcP

Q: 9. Will this work with the tilta nucleus m motors?

A: The Tilta Side Power Handle Run/Stop Cable for Panasonic GH4/5/5s and S1H is designed to connect to Tilta Handles.

Q: 10. Will this cable work with the Nucleus-M hand unit or hand grips?

A: No the Tilta Run/Stop Cable for Tiltaing Side Power Handle (LANC) will not work with the Tilta Nucleus-M. The correct LANC Run/Stop cable for the Tilta Nucleus-M is listed below: Tilta Nucleus-M Run/Stop Cable for Sony FS5/FS7, and Panasonic Eva Cameras BH #TIRS01LANC https://bhpho.to/3M24mFy

[0.05 lb] After trying the side handle by portkeys I've ended my journey with the advanced side handle with RS. Portkeys had a great handle I almost kept but there were a few reasons I decided to return that for this. First being it was very confusing system. It worked well with pocket 6k because of the Bluetooth. But the fact I couldn't pair with my pocket 6k and have my portkeys LH5P monitor made me have to pick between the monitor and the handle. I kept the monitor and went with this Tilta. And I'm really glad I did. The focus motor is designed for focusing. The wheel is dampened and it feels solid. And this system is much more versatile as I can use this on pretty much any small to medium sized cine lens. The RS button works exactly as it should. You do need the optional cable which i can't understand why is $30. But all in all Tilta is the best rig accessories "company" while I believe small rig is the best at making cages and rig parts. If your Legos kinda guy then go smallrig. But Tilta makes products you need. Like this one.

[0.05 lb] Nice grip, good ergonomics, focus ring travel is just the right amount.
Putting on the rosette mount is a bit of a pain and requires the included angled Allan key, so don't loose that one.

[0.05 lb] Although I haven't used it for long, I absolutely love this handle. The possibility of having the focus on the tip of your finger while holding the camera is incredible, and a game changer for handheld camera. Im pairing with the nano motor and so far it works good. I wish there was a way to revert the direction of the focus knob, in case I need to rig the motor on the right side of the camera.

[0.05 lb] I used to get so stressed out when shooting on my Pocket 6K. We all know how horrendous the battery life is. Now with this and the tilta cage using a Sony NP-F970 I’m getting close to 4 hours of runtime. I’m able to focus on my shots not stressing about how much battery life I have left while fumbling through my pockets full of canon batteries. Well well worth the money.

[0.05 lb] It's a solid grip but make sure it's the right one for you. There are several different ones to choose. This is primarily just a grip for the cage.

[0.05 lb] Well built and good addition with Tilta Nucleus Nano.
Pro - with the F970 battery, the Tilta Nucleus Nano will last full day of filming. With this, pulling focus while have a grip onto the camera make it easy and having ssd slot save space.
Con - I wish this was wireless to the Tilta Nucleus Nano. This is tether to the motor. So I would recommend get a short right angle usb micro B and long right angle usb micro B. Because the usb port is on the bottom of the handle.
