The Stingray X Series is the third generation of Stingray mixer bags. Thanks to real-world feedback from professionals in the field, this generation of the Stingray X is even better than its predecessors. Specifically designed for ultracompact, highly functional bag setups, this all new Junior X bag is home for some of the most versatile and functional compact field recording packages.

Three layers of water-repellent polyurethane reinforce the X Bag, which features a 1680D durable polyester fabric. The bag is meant for productions using very compact, full-function audio mixer recorders. The design was optimized to work with mixers like the Sound Devices 833 and 888 as well as Zaxcom's Nova and Maxx. It is also well suited for many similarly sized mixer recorders.

The most requested feature from the previous Stingray Junior bags was the kickstand. So now you can conveniently lean the bag back for clear visibility and access while sitting at a table or similar. The X Series kickstand is permanently attached and can be folded to easily store on the rear exterior of the bag when not in use.

The reinforced and strengthened vertical frame structure now protects the equipment even better. It allows full access to the sides and bottom of the mixer recorder to access connectors and media.

Two solid, threaded attachment points are directly tied into the frame structure of the bag, allowing accessories like sharkfin antennas to be attached. These two attachment points each feature 1/4"-20 female and 3/8"-16 male threads.

The large trap door on the bottom and zippered side access panels complement the accessibility offered by the frame design and further ease setup, cabling, and battery swaps. This design concept makes the Stingray Junior X exterior compact, but roomy on the inside.

The premium zippers are color-coded for your convenience. Large side pockets offer plenty of room to store batteries and other accessories. Generous pass-throughs allow cable routing from and to the main compartment. A separate front compartment is protected by a rigid front panel and can be expanded or closed tight. A: Yes, the K-Tek Stingray MixPro Audio Bag will hold the Zoom F8n Pro Multitrack Field Recorder in the main compartment and the Zoom F-Control can be placed in the front pouch, but it will stick out of the top about 2.6". The F-Control measures 9.6 x 7.1 x 1.8" and the interior of the pouch measures 10.5 x 4.5 x 2.5".

A: The interior dimensions of the K-Tek Stingray Junior X Audio Mixer Recorder Bag are 8.7 x 7.9 x 3.6" (221 x 201 x 91 mm) and the dimensions of the Sound Devices MixPre-6 II Field Recorder are 6.5 x 4.6 x 1.4" (166 x 118 x 36 mm) so the bag is a bit larger than what the recorder would require, but it could work if you need a bag with additional space for other gear.

A: At this time, no. There will be a firmware update at some point, but the folks at Sound Devices do not have a time frame. You can link 4 input channels, but the audio will be recorded in 'A' format.
