Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The easyrig requires two. Does this come with two or just one?

A: Hi Jonathan, Thank you for your email. An official Easyrig only requires one Shock Absorber for operation, therefore this item only has one (1) included. If you own an Easyrig that requires more than one shock absorber, I would make sure that it is not an off-brand duplicate. If you have any additional questions, please contact 16x9 Inc. at (661)295-3313 or info@16x9inc.com.

Q: 2. I own an Easyrig 3 Cinema. Can I purchase the Stabil Light and powerpack kit BH #EASBMINIMXST and install it on my Cinema vest?

A: Yes, the Easyrig 3 vest can accommodate the Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light and Powerpack.

Q: 3. Can you adjust the tension on this one like you can on the Vario 5? So you can choose how much weight you want to take?

A: Yes, just twist the knob on the back of the EasyRig

Q: 4. Is the vest one size fits all?

A: For the most part, yes. I'm a relatively smaller dude... 5'9 155lbs. It fits me nicely, but all of the straps are as tight as they can go. If you are smaller it'd likely be difficult to get a snug fit. It looks very expandable from there though. My 6'2 220lbs. friend used it no problem. So if you are bigger/taller you'd be fine. Not sure what the upper ceiling is for weight/height. All straps are adjustable seem to conform to various body types. Hope this helps!

Q: 5. Does it work with Ronin S?

A: Yes, we actually offer a kit that comes with this Minimax and the Ronin-S, BH #DJRONINSK (B&H Kit). If you have the Ronin-S already and are interested in this Minimax you would just need the Easyrig Quick Release Camera Hook, BH #EAERIGEA033Q, which is included in the kit above.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Easyrig minimax?

A: No it is not compatible with the Easyrig Minimax.

Q: 7. this mentions only working with the "standard arm". Does that mean if you have a 9" gimbal arm, these are incompatible?

A: No, they would be compatible.

Q: 8. Does minimax works with slightly overweight setup ? Let say my total setup will be around 16lbs-18lbs . Is it still possible or it's a totally no ?

A: NO it will not, overloading the support is not recommended and any damage incurred may void the manufacturers warranty as the device isn't being used withing the designated parameters

Q: 9. Looking at purchasing the DJI Ronin M compact stabilizer. I want an easy rig to use with it to save my back. I am using Canon camera's on the stabilizer. Which easy rig would work best and not break the bank?

A: I have used the Easy Rig, found it to be a good design and feel it would be well suited for the Ronin M flying Canon cameras/lenses.In time, I would imagine you will wish to also consider the Flowcine line of products to make the camera super smooth and yet not break your back or exhaust your arms.http://bhpho.to/1LCBcsvIn action:https://a href= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmVUOdtks2w target= _blank www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmVUOdtks2w/a

Q: 10. will tilta's top handle hold 7kg camera rig on easyrig minimax? Or just suggest other top handle which i can screw on tilta's bmpcc6k cage.

A: Yes, the Tilta top handle will support your rig on the Easyrig Minimax.

[M6 male at ends] I love this easyrig, have had it out on several shoots now and can say confidently it's an outstanding piece of equipment. Saves my back, hands and arms from fatigue and potential injury. The quick release works perfect and inspires confidence with an audible snap-in when it secures, seems bulletproof to me. This is perfect for on-the-go filming situations when time is at a premium, and helps create a nice tamed natural hand-held look when handled correctly. One observation I've had is this becomes pretty difficult to manage in a high wind situation when shooting outdoors, as the pole gets blown around and you really have to fight the jerking/swaying it creates. Otherwise, no significant qualms and I'm glad to have finally picked this up!

[Steel] If you've ever worked on a reality show you need an Easyrig. If you've ever gone hand held all day long with a camera that isn't balanced for your shoulder, you need an Easyrig. I've worked a reality show with a Panasonic HDX 900, Hytron battery, video transmitter, on board wireless, and Litepanel, handheld all day long, couldn't do it without an Easyrig. We own 3 of them. [Steel] Hands down one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. I've had this vest for about 3 years now and it has saved my back so many times it's not even funny. I literally don't even know how I was filming without it before. I've used this with so many different setups before (including a fully blown BMPCC6K pro rig) but these days I keep it pretty simple - I have my DJI Ronin RS3 + Sony FX3 + V mount battery rig and it's absolutely a dream. I can literally film with one hand in my pocket and the other one on the gimbal. I don't think I would ever buy a vest from any other brand than Easyrig. These guys are the real deal.

[Steel] Unless you're renting in LA or NYC, it's nearly impossible to find a Vario 5 with a small operator vest. I'm 5'6, medium build (34 waist), and still need to tightly strap up on this rig. That tells me it'll fit someone taller and bigger than me. This rig is perfect for larger/heavier camera rigs and a Movi Pro. Fitted correctly, you don't feel any of the weight and I can see it working well with female operators as well.

One thing Easyrig doesn't really make clear and immensely valuable to me is:

The rig can quickly be raised and lowered about 5-6 inches. That might not seem like a lot but I'm short at 5'6 and the increased arm height allows me to raise the camera/Movi to film taller people without having to shoot up at them. It's just 4 screws that can be quickly adjusted within 2 minutes.

Finding a proper hard case to fly with this rig is not easy/cheap. BUT the vest can be easily separated from the arm in order to make the entire rig smaller and portable. Just takes adjusting the same 4 screws. Also helpful if you want to throw on a standard/larger vest for other operators.

The Serene Arm is amazing. Paired with a Movi/Ronin, proper handling, and rolling your steps, you can get some amazingly smooth footage. Remember to adjust the tension of your Serene Arm so it's parallel to the ground. Also remember to loosen the Serene Arm while traveling so you can safely bend it and make your rig smaller for packing.

[M6 male at ends] Great quality, tried the cheap chinses version and they are poorly made and not as confortable as the easyrig. Great tool for mid to heavy set up to shoot handheld

[M6 male at ends] Functions very well, reduces z-axis motion as advertised.

[M6 male at ends] Have used now on four shoots, two all-day hand held, two Movi. At 45, I have back pain on almost any shoot where I have to go handheld for over 15 minutes with my large camera package. I had tried other rigs for the Movi, but never fully evading the 'end of the day discomfort' that was sure to show up. This package changed all of that. Of all the gear I've bought over the years, this has to be my best purchase.

The impact was immediate... walked away from two 14 hour days with zero pain or stiffness. Next shoot, Stabil arm worked so well with my Movi walk-and-talk, again.. no back pain.

The quality and build of this rig is top notch. Nothing overlooked, no expense spared with build quality. And to top it off... takes seconds to 'rig up' with the help of the easy lock waist belt. If I was hot, I'd easily take it off between setups. I could rig-up as late as talent walking to set which is something I could never do before with the movi and other setups.

Bottom line, this rig is an investment in your future as a DP if you suffer from any kind of back pain. Wish I had purchased 10 years ago.

[Steel] Unless you're doing gimbal work, this is the best EasyRig for most setups.

The Vario gives the user the ability to adjust tension for a wide range of camera sizes and weights. The gimbal vest is great for waist support, much preferred over the original vest in my opinion. The 5 arm is the perfect size to get the camera off your shoulder but not be obtrusive in your environment.

Only wish I bought this sooner.
