Quickly mount and release your camera with a Sony-compatible VCT-U14 mounting system to a tripod with the IDX PROTECH VST-14 Quick Release Tripod Platefrom IDX. Featuring a die-cast aluminum body, this VCT-Style Plate supports all VCT-14 compatible cameras and baseplates and features a secure, spring-loaded release latch. Mounting: Once you have mounted the plate to your tripod or other mounting platform, simply slide your camera forward so that the front tongue and rear shoe on the bottom of the camera engage. You will feel the mechanism engage. Gently pull backwards and up to ensure the camera is seated properly.

Releasing: Firmly hold your camera with one hand, while with the other, hold the release lever and press the red safety-release button. With the button depressed, pull the handle out away from the plate to release your camera.

A: The Black Magic Ursa Shoulder mount kit is supposed to be compatible with this plate. It is possible that one of the components may be defective. If possible try using either the plate or the Ursa shoulder kit with other VCT-14 compatible gear. hopefully this will help you determine if one of your products is defective.

A: Works perfectly with the 5858DLX. Not sure if it would work with the 6600DX.

Q: 5. Will this work with a PXW z90V & a soon to be released PXW 280? Also, I'm confused as to how this plate mounts to a tripod, can anyone advise?

A: i agree with all the responses. Also the underneath of the base plate is various size screw holes in a line which should cover most tripods that have a quick release. i found this product to be very high quality and durable

A: Are use this adaptor with the Ursa mini 4.6 K with the shoulder mount attachment. And clips in perfectly. You should have no problem attaching the Manfrotto tripod head to the VCT-14 quick release adapter.

A: You need additional pieces. Like the Ikan cage and shoulder mount for the fs7. It's the direction I went when we purchased ours.

[1.82 lb] I bought a couple of these. They seem like a great replacement or spare plate if you need them. I keep one with my jib as well. I like that the screw holes for mounting are extra deep in case you are using longer screws, they are less likely to bind up the internal release mechanism. 5

[1.82 lb] I use this plate in conjunction with the Small Rig Shoulder Pad Pro and they work great together. I've read the other reviews but I haven't experienced any play or wiggle room between the plate and the Pad. Maybe there is (I hope not) some sample-to-sample variation but in my case, it works as well as the OG Sony ones so far. 5
