[0.23 oz / 6.5 g] I did a lot of research on cartridges as I was starting out with a new system (Technics SL-1210GR) and wanted the most bang for my Buck. Article after article this was highly praised and the reviewers were right on the money! I have a relatively high end digital system and DAC, and my vinyl setup with this cartridge spanks the pants off of it. Highly recommended!

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] My turntable came with the AT-VM95E and when it was ready for a replacement, I decided to upgrade. I didn't think there would be much difference but high vocals really came through cleaner than the previous. Overall I could tell a difference and the extra cost was definitely worth it, especially considering it lasts longer than the VM95E.

[Spherical] My Shure cartridge got old, and needed a replacement. I looked in the catalog, but no Shure cartridges. Gone out of business. How could they do that? So I ordered the Audio Technica. I am not sorry. Excellent presence and bass. I wouldn’t trade it!

[Spherical] Back in the day when Audio Technica released the AT-95 it was widely praised as a lively, dynamic alternative to the usual Shure M75EJ. Today the AT-VM95E is even more detailed and dynamic than before. Tight bass, clear open midrange and crisp treble offer a solid, rhythmic presentation of recorded music on vinyl. Its main rival today is probably Ortofon's OM 5E, offering similar performance at a higher price. The AT is audibly punchier and more foot-tapping than the Ortofon. If you have a bigger budget consider stepping up to the $150-$20 price range for a significant overall improvement.

[200 to 600 pF] The quality of the sound in my Thorens turntable is the best it’s ever been. Even the oldest vinyl sounds wonderful. I’m hearing rich and beautiful sound exactly as it was created, noticing instruments I hadn’t even heard before.

And as highly as I recommend this cartridge, I recommend all the good folks at B&H. A special shout out to Aaron, who provided great customer service.

[450 mH] This mono cartridge is a dream brought to reality for those of us old enough to have large collections of mono LPs, 45s and 78s. Using the cartridge as-is with the included VMN10CB stylus, mono LPs and 45s track perfectly and sound cleaner than they ever did when played using any stereo cartridge and stylus, no matter what the stylus configuration was. I have the feeling that the stylus is tracing portions of the groove wall that were never touched by narrower stereo styli. When I switch in the VMN70SP stylus, I hear everything possible in 78 rpm grooves that in some cases are more than 85 years old; again, it's as if previously untouched sections of the groove walls are being traced for the first time in the lives of the old shellac records. As a bonus, I've also discovered that I can switch the stylus to an older ATE100E eliptical stylus and play "electronically rechanneled for stereo" LPs issued in the 60s and early 70s to make mono recordings sound like stereo, even though the results were generally muddy and dismal; this cartridge restores the mono sound of the original pre-stereo era recording, greatly improving the sound. For older, non-stereo records, this cartridge is a must as far as I'm concerned. Once again, I need to say "Thank you" to Audio-Technica.
