Magnetic filter frames in magnetic holders are great in the field. Easier to adjust, and click onto the frame, rather than having to slide a filter into the frame, and make sure that it isn't cross-threaded. It's just that you already have all these great (and expensive) filters...


Being able to convert all your current filters to a magnetic system is brilliant, and plus you have something to grab and don't feel like you are putting fingerprints everywhere, etc.


Except for the part where you actually have to put the frame together, which is a royal pain. When people say it's a bit fiddly, my experience is that it has been near impossible to get the side bars to click into the top section. The little hooks are too big to fit. And if you don't get them to click in, then at some point, the top bar is going to separate from your filter, and then it's hard to pull out of the filter bag, etc.


This is the way that I have been able to make the frames (YMMV): I use a pair of needle nosed pliers to gently squish the little hook, which allows me to click the hook into the side bar, and once the 2 side bars are hooked in (make sure the stars are on the same side), then I slide the filter in (after removing the paper off the 2 sided tape (fine forceps work really great for this). Repeat the bit with the pliers for the bottom section (though the hooks are a bit smaller, it's still difficult to get the hooks to catch).

It's well built out of aluminum, the rotating CPL works nicely and doesn't vignette with my Sony 16-35 f2.8 GM, and the holder holds onto my camera with a vice grip. The only complaint is that the magnetic filter frames feel slightly too flimsy and take a few minutes to put together, but they do the job and I suspect will be fine. The magnets attach the filters to the frame with the right amount of strength and I'm pretty confident they won't fall off or anything.

[Aluminum] I spent forever debating over every filter system on the market, pricing my options and reading everything I could on the subject. I very nearly bought a few others and have had at least four systems in my cart before this one. What really sold me on this was the simplicity, ease of use, lack of light leaks, top quality materials, and competitive price.

No other system comes with as many adapter rings or usually any at all. That can be an added up front cost of $150 right there before you can mount the filter system on all your lenses. The CPL or ND-CPL drop in is of high quality and is really easy to use and swap out even with filters installed.

The filters themselves are easily a match for the best out there and the magnetized filter holder makes using them just that much easier. They are priced so that they just undercut many competitors even with the frames included.

In conclusion, this filter system just offered more ease of use and bang for the buck than any other. Finding this holder on sale as an open box made it far and away cheaper than any other competitor and I could not say no. I have no regrets or complaints so far.

[0.265 lb] These frames do the job perfectly. I needed to adapt some Lee filters for use with a very wide angle lens and the 100mm H&L magnetic K-system was perfect for the job. In a couple of cases I cut down a 100mmx150mm frame but you have to superglue the cut joints as you also will have to cut off the hooks and you need to be very accurate with your cuts.
Works perfectly as intended. Please make more of them.

[Aluminum] I have a few of these and they always fit like a glove. Just make sure you don't take the sticky tape along with its cover!

[5.8 x 5.8 x 1"] I use this for my set of K&F X-Pro 100 mm filters with plastic frames (about 111 mm x 142 mm). The inner lining pockets of this pouch are slightly too narrow for the framed filters to fit. However, cutting the stitching at the side of several of the fabric pockets made enough room. With that bit of extra work, the pouch is an excellent solution. It protects the filters well, keeps out dust, and is nicely compact.
