Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this also be used as a headphone jack?

A: It should also be able to be used as a headphone output.

Q: 2. If perhaps I want to go on musical Facebook live, can I use this chord and pick all my audio from the mixer directly and the output on Facebook page will be as neat and the output from the speakers?

A: No. The Saramonic SR-C2002 3.5mm TRRS Female to Lightning Adapter Cable for Audio to/from iPhone is intended for use with a microphone or a mic level signal. The output signal from a mixer is line level which is much louder than mic level, so you will need to use an attenuator or level matching cable between the mixer and Saramonic Lightning adapter in order to pad the line level signal from the mixer and bring it down to mic level if you want to connect it to an iPhone. If your mixer has XLR outputs, you can use a cable like the Sescom Dual Female XLR to 3.5mm TRRS Plug - Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices - 12" (B&H # SEIPSUMXLR12). If your mixer has RCA outputs, you can use the Sescom Stereo RCA to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices - 12" (B&H # SEIPSUMRCA12). If your mixer has 1/4" output, you can use the Sescom Dual 1/4" Phone Plug to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Microphone Summing Cable - 3' (B&H # SEIPSUMTS3). Q: 3. Will this work correctly with the Tentacle Sync 3.5mm Mini-Jack Microphone Y-Cable (12"), which will send audio timecode signal into the iPhone's left stereo channel and audio from my mic into the right stereo channel? Thanks.

A: In theory, yes, the Movo Photo IMA-2 Female 3.5mm TRS to Lightning Microphone Adapter Cable (5.5") should work as theorized along with the Tentacle Sync 3.5mm Mini-Jack Microphone Y-Cable (12").

Q: 4. Will this work with a Rode Video Mic, that I want to plug into my Iphone 12?

A: Yes, but not directly; you need to also get the Rode SC4 conversion cable: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048151-REG/rode_sc4_trs_to_trrs_adaptor.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 5. Does this do the exact same thing as the Apple lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter or is there something different about this 1?

A: This does serve the same function as the Apple lightning-3.5mm adapter https://bhpho.to/2Zb5r7J .

Q: 6. will it work with the videomic go?

A: I just checked some rode adaptors and I found the Rode SC7, it is the one you could use with SC1 in order to connect the microfone in your smartphone. SC7 is the best option for that and not SC4 which I mentioned in the other awnser.

Q: 7. Does the mic that will be plugged into the 3.5 need to be a mic with a battery?

A: The Movo Photo GMA100 3.5mm Female Microphone Adapter Cable for GoPro Hero Cameras will not require a battery powered microphone as GoPros work with phantom powered microphones.

Q: 8. Can this be used with Apple Airpods Max headset lightning port to connect to 3.5mm TRRS mic+audio to/from a PC?

A: While it has the desired connectivity, the Saramonic SR-C2002 3.5mm TRRS Female to Lightning Adapter Cable for Audio to/from iPhone is not specified for this specific use with the Apple Airpods Max and PC connection, and may or may not work as desired.

Q: 9. Will it work with a gopro hero 8?

A: Hi, no. You would need the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter BH #GO35MA - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1274435-REG/gopro_aamic_001_3_5mm_mic_adapter.html.

Q: 10. Bidirectional signal? Will it work with AirPods max? If it has an analog to digital converter to use on an airplane. (Audio output from 3.5mm input to lightning)

A: The Saramonic SR-C2002 3.5mm TRRS Female to Lightning Adapter Cable for Audio to/from iPhone is compatible for bidirectional use with TRRS-wired headsets and headphones. The Apple Airpods Max use a USB Type-C connection and further adaptation may inhibit the capabilities of the adapter or headphones.

[0.035 lb] It holds 6-7 cards plus 4-5 notes. Easy to access any card you need while keeping the overall thickness very low. Like the design.

[0.035 lb] I have used a lot of lightning adapters in our mobile production workflow, but this is the most durable and reliable we have. Simply stated: it works.

I teach high school video and film, so a lot of people are touching these cables on a daily basis and it has stood the test of time.

Highly recommend... despite the cost. Do not buy a cheaper cable adapter.

[0.035 lb] When using an external mic with a TRRS plug on your iPhone mounted in a rig or gimbal that blocks the lightning port, this allows you to use the lightning port without either crimping the cable or moving your iPhone so far away from the rig as to exacerbate balance problems. You only need move your iPhone about 19/32 away from the obstructive gimbal. I could not find any competing products.

[0.035 lb] This comes as a two part device. It is a very good sounding TRS plug-in-power mic, and an inexpensive USB audio dongle with an input and a headphone output. It is NOT a TRRS device (which I think it said it was somewhere), and a trrs is only generally used for something with both a headphone and a mic.

The mic sounds very good, any self noise well below the living room background noise, good sensitivity. I used it with a handheld recorder which supplies about 2.5 volts, which is required by this condenser mic. I suspect that the ring on the TRS plug is not connected to anything, just there to avoid contact with something that could cause a problem.

On this windows 7 computer, the USB device did not work, and I was not going to use it anyway, so I am only reporting on the microphone. I did not troubleshoot the USB dongle, could have been a reboot or something would fix it.

I suspect previous reviewer (Karen) had either a defective device, or misunderstood how to use it, or had the same trouble I had with the USB part.
