Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come in a protective plastic case that you can use to store it?

A: I'm sorry, no.

Q: 2. Will this adapter fit the Canon SX50? I want a metal adapter, the plastic one I used for a VERY SHORT TIME split. If not this one, can you recommend one? Thank you.

A: No, that is a step up ring. The built in lens on the SX50 does not have filter threads and can only use the filter adapter made for it. The link for that is, http://bhpho.to/1brgUcX.

Q: 3. ok so I am planing on purchasing filter with 77mm thread and I want to also use it on a 58mm and 67mm threaded lenses so would the 58-77mm step up work for all 3 lenses? 67 being in the middle? Or do I need 2 separet step up filters? One 58-77mm and one 67-77mm

A: Dear friend, the reason to buy a bigger filter for smaller lens is to avoid vignetting at wide setting. For your case (filter 77mm / lenses 58mm and 67mm) you need two step-up rings. One from 58 77 and another from 67 77. To save one ring you must buy a 67mm filter and use to the 58 lens with step-up ring and as it is to your other lens (67mm diameter). I hope I have solved your problem.

Q: 4. Is there a knurled version of this 77 to 95 mm step up ring ?

A: I didn't know; didn't buy it.

Q: 5. What is the thread pitch on this step-up ring?

A: Unfortunately we do not have the measurement of the pitch to provide you with. I contacted the manufacturer and they stated it is within the common pitch of your major brand filters we carry (Hoya, Tiffen, B+W etc).

Q: 6. Could this be used on a sirui 60mm portrait lens for smartphones?

A: No, that step-up ring will not fit. The Sirui 60mm Portrait Lens does not have threads to screw into.

Q: 7. Can I use this StepUp on a Fujifilm X30?

A: No; 40.5 is too large to go on the X30. It is frustrating to try to attach anything to these little Fuji lenses. I ended up buying a lot of miscellaneous caps, hoods, step up rings, and filters. I finally gave up and purchased the Fuji hood that came with a clear filter (size not specified but perhaps a 40mm) and a pinch cap. It seemed like an unreasonable price, but it works well. All the other filters and step up rings and caps are part of my estate.

Q: 8. Would this 67mm step up be likely to cause vignetting on the canon 10-18 using an 82mm ICE ND filter? Thank you

A: Not in my case it doesn't presented any vignetting when I use it.

Q: 9. If I have a 30mm camera lens, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step up or step down ring?

A: This step-up ring is the one you need.

Q: 10. I need a step up ring to use 72mm filters on a 77mm lens. Is itemshown fit my need? Thanks

A: You will actually need a step down ring- this particular ring will enable you to use 77mm filters on a 72mm lens. The correct item you need is the Sensei 77mm-72mm step-down ring: http://bhpho.to/1sDgEm6

[3 mm] It's cheap and does what I need it to. It allows me to use my higher end variable nd filter on multiple lenses.

[49 mm to 52 mm] Very good build for such a small price, though if you are hard on your gear, don't expect it to resist any tough hits. However, if you're like me and treat your glass & gear with loving care, it will last you a lifetime. I have a couple of these on some classic Nikkors and they's been champs.

[49 mm to 52 mm] I opted to a less expensive step up ring because I didn't expect i would be using it often. I was wrong, but, it works fine. I have not had issues with it jamming, or the threads not lining up.

[3 mm] The Sensei 48-49 step-up adapter is being used on a rare, vintage, black anodized, Leica M 90mm F2, V1.2, Canada, Lens designed by Mandler. The lens accepts 48mm filters. The adapter fits the lens well without binding. I am using the adapter with a B+W Master MRC Nano 007 Clear filter to protect the lens. The adapter works well with the filter, and the adapter + filter work very well with the lens's built-in telescoping hood.
