Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this unit be plugged into a power strip? I am running out of wall outlets, and need to plug another UPS into a wall outlet.

A: You should not connect a UPS into a Surge protector power strip, it may not work as intended.

Q: 2. Will this support CPAP unit through the night?

A: UPS devices are not made to provide constant power in any way. They are made specifically for the purpose of shutting down a PC softly if and when there is a power outage. Most of these devices with smaller capacities can only support about 5 minutes of power to a PC with an average of 150W - 200W of usage, just enough time to systematically perform a soft shut down process on a PC to preserve data. I would not recommend using this device with any type of medical devices other than a Windows driven USB enabled computer.

Q: 3. How long is the cord?

A: The cord length is 5 ft.

Q: 4. Can this unit support a hub with 3 external drives (10tb, 8 tb, 8tb), a mouse, a scanner, and a Wacom table with surge/battery?

A: The CyberPower BRG1500AVRLCD Intelligent LCD Series Uninterruptible Power Supply BH #CY1500AVRLCD supports up to 900w. The items you listed should be far under that load capacity.

Q: 5. How accurate is the simulated sine wave?

A: The BRG1500AVRLCD has preformed and been tested to meet the technical specifications of the UPS. So it is preforming how the UPS was designed. There are two different types of UPS battery output: Sinewave and Simulated Sinewave. The difference between the two is the output wave form, if you need a pure sinewave UPS i would suggest the CP1500PFCLCD.

Q: 6. Is there a distance requirement between the ups and monitor?

A: Thank you everyone for your prompt replies! You have been very helpful.:-)

Q: 7. Is the battery inside replaceable?

A: The CyberPower EC750G does not have a user-replaceable battery.

Q: 8. Can it be safely used on its side?

A: Generally it is not recommended to use the CyberPower AVR Series CP900AVR UPS this way.

Q: 9. Says takes 2 12 volt batteries? Hard to believe. Can't find a small 12 v battery that would fit.

A: Yes, the CyberPower AVR Series CP900AVR UPS, B&H # CYP900AV, does take two 12V batteries. The specific battery that is listed on CyberPower's website for this unit is not currently for sale at B&H: https://bit.ly/3UrEbwh.

Q: 10. Could this unit supply enough power for a CPAP breathing device. If so, for how long? Does it have a standard plug in portal so that I could plug in my device to this power supply?. This unit would give me the ability to breath during a black out. Please advise. Thanks.

A: You should consult the manufacturer of your breathing devise for this. I am an electronic engineering technician and to service or work on any medical equipment takes a special licensing. Medical equipment is extremely finicky and your life could depend on it, so don't take any advise form the internet; you never know who is answering you. Only the manufacturer of your breathing devise can properly advise you for back up, go to them and get what they tell you need.

[Hubbell CS8365C] We needed a PDU that we could reliable control and monitor on our corporate network. Using these has already saved us from riding across campus to reboot a camera or PC connected to them. Love this PDU and how easy it is to control on our network.

[None ] Got this PDU to upgrade a Bretford computer cart that had only three outlets to move a Dell Precision workstation + 32 4K monitor around the campus. You can never have enough outlets for all your peripherals and this PDU provides plenty. Best part are the two front outlets (though spacing them wider would be nice), wish this was a more common feature in PDUs.

The flexible mounting options are a plus (comes with two pairs of mounting tabs - one for flush mount, the other for recessed/elevated mounting). Also appreciate having a dedicated grounding post to allow bonding the entire cart (or server rack) to ground.

Minor issue, the six holes on the ends of the PDU for the mounting tabs are not symmetrical/equally spaced, so it makes installing the tabs slightly more complicated than it could be.

Not sure if I'll use the cord retention bar which has slots for zip-tying each cord (zip-ties are included), but the bar easily attaches with four small screws and can be adjusted up or down.

CyberPower does commit one of my pet peeves - using two different screw sizes (one for the mounting tabs, another for the retention bar) for user-assembled parts when just one size screw would not significantly increase the cost of manufacturing the product as this simplify things for the end user (especially if you end up loosing a screw).
