[Manual Focus] I was expecting something like my LOMO LC-A. Which I would have loved... but this lens is actually far sharper.

Easy to focus if you put on focus peaking on the Z 6. Fun, small, makes for a tiny street camera feeling. LOVE IT.

Sold my 50mm 1.8s for this lens and LOVE IT!
This is not an easy lens! That is my love affair with this lens. When you massage the focus to the exact point you will be astounded with the results. I have also bought the 90mm 1.25 Artisan and that is great too. Again no comparison to Nikon but with some sharpening and contrast you acquire fantastic images with out of the park bokeh!

[Manual Focus] This lens reminds me of a cross between the old Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar lenses and a soft version of the Sigma 40mm f1.4 lens, when used with a short extension tube for close up work. The bokeh and flair make a magic mix in the right light for artistic effect... The center image can be razor sharp at times in these close ups and then drop focus faster than any lens I have worked with. The overall effect is elegant and with beautifully rendered accurate colors. At infinity the softness is high in corners when wide open, as expected. I cannot wait to try some BW portraits wide open. A True artist lens in right hands. Extremely well made. ( I shoot S1R Lumix)

[f/5.6] Very well constructed from metal and slips onto my Leica M. Optics are very good particularly at this price point.

[f/5.6] I very go out of my way to write reviews, but this time I had to make an exception. I bought the 7artisans 25mm f0.95 on sale, but I would say it's well worth the full retail price. There is nothing like this available for the X mount or any APSC camera for that matter. The pictures that come out of this resemble something out of a medium format camera. The wide angle 3d pop from this lens is unparalleled. If you know what you are doing, this will make your pictures stand out.

The lens is super heavy chunk of glass and metal and the images aren't even close to sharp wide open at minimum distances, but get respectably sharp a few feet away. The lens gets razor sharp by f5.6 and has no distortion. This is also a real T1.05 lens, which means it can make your camera act like a night vision device. Wide open its so bright that it overexposes even night shots. The only thing I did not like about the lens is it gets horrible flares when pointing at bright light sources at night.

For reference I have the XF 23mm 1.4 R and the Nokton 23mm f1.2 as well. While being sharper than the 7artisans, neither of those lenses can even come close in the vintage 3d look you get with the 0.95

[63°] I admit I underestimated this particular lens. I’m accustomed to manually focusing since I own macro lenses but I must say the “Rolex” quality feel associated with this particular 50mm F1.05 7Artisans lens has got to be believed!!
Smooooth well dampened focus and aperture ring (although de-clicked) made using it a real treat.
Imagery produced was very sharp even wide open and “permit required “ sharp when stopped down from 1.4 thru 5.6.
In summary, my first lens from 7Artisans was a very pleasant surprise indeed.
As usual B&H packaging sets the standard for shipping delicate optics.

The lens cap is well built but not very functional. I just bought a cheap generic cap and problem solved.
