A: Yes, the SmallRig 2982B Camera Cage for Canon EOS R5 C, R5, and R6 will work with the Canon EOS R5 C cinema camera.

Q: 5. Can this fit the Eos rebel T7?

A: Unfortunately, this cage is only meant for the Canon EOS R5 and R6.

A: No, this will only fit the Canon R5, R5C, and R6. The cage for the EOS R is: BH #SMCCC2803

Q: 8. Will this cage accommodate the battery grip, BG-R10? It certainly doesn’t appear to fit the R5 w/ the battery grip attached. Is there a cage that will make use of the battery grip? Thanks for any help you might provide!

A: No, this will not accommodate the battery grip. There is a yet to be released cage coming from Kondor Blue - https://bhpho.to/36woidc - but no exact release date has been announced and we have not received images for the product.

[0.055 lb] The cage works just great, for holding the camera, attaching accessories and protecting the camera. I tripped with camera hitting the sidewalk, the cage saved the camera. 5

[0.055 lb] I bought two of these as 'preventive medicine' for my R6s. It seems Canon chose to internalize the tightening of the Hot Shoe screws and both my R6s came down with loose/disconnected Hot Shoes. I bought this cage and coupled it with the Vello(1.5') Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord to connect my Canon 600s strobes. If the strobe gets bumped heavy...it breaks the strobe and not the camera. As for the rest of the benefits of the bracket, it fits like a glove BUT...the image B&H has on the website is not the one I received. I like the one I received better as it does not place the hot shoe on an angle. 5

[0.055 lb] The single screw hole on the bottom of the R5C had been very frustrating as it allows the camera to eventually twist loose during run and gun shoots. This cage solved that problem for me since it has the two anti twist pins to keep the cage securely attached to the camera, and then has multiple screw holes on the bottom that give me more than one point of contact to whatever I attach it to. It has the added bonus of giving me more mounting points along the sides and top as well and provides a little bit of extra protection for the camera. It fits well around the R5C and didn't obstruct any buttons, battery door, or ports. 5

[0.055 lb] Love how functional and versatile the cage is. I added a NATO top handle with a videomic pro- using these with the Rode Wireless Go, I can slip the handle off and have a wireless interview mic for more targeted sound capture. 5
