Q: 1. If adapted to other mounts like L Mount or E Mount, could the rear element protrude onto the camera's shutter curtain?

A: There have been no reports of this lens protruding onto the shutter when adapted to a Leica L mount camera or Sony E mount camera.

Q: 2. I just received this with a M4/3 mount. When I put it on my OM-D E-M1 II, I see nothing - looks the same with lens cap off as on. This was listed as compatible for my camera. Tried it at all aperture. My camera did detect that is a MF lens. What more do I need to do Or just return it?

A: The TTartisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras fits very tight on your camera lens mount. It may feel the lens is attached but if the LCD is displaying a black frame it means the lens is not connected correctly yet. Please removed the lens and mounted it back on. Make sure you hear a click when you finish turning the lens in the mount.

Q: 3. Does this lens fit a Mark 5D iii specifically?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF-M (Black) does not work with a Canon 5D Mark III. This lens has an EF-M mount, while the 5D Mark III has an EF mount. They are not compatible.

Q: 4. How does this lens compare to the newly released (H2 2021) Brightin Star 50mm 0.95? Has anybody done a side-by-side?

A: B&H does not currently carry this lens and we have not seen any direct comparisons with any other lens.

Q: 5. What is the recommended 6 bit code for this len using on m10?

A: Unfortunately, this lens is not 6 bit coded.

A: The TTArtisan 50mm is a f/1.2. The photos are incorrect, thank you for letting us know.

Q: 8. Is this a "manual focus only" lens or does it work with the Fuji camera's auto focus?

A: This lens is manual focus only.

A: This lens is not 6 bit coded nor is it milled for 60 bit coding.

Q: 10. Purchased for my Canon M50, I get my subject in focus but the camera is unable to snap the photo. Am I missing something?

A: The camera must be in manual exposure mode as well as Custom Functions to enable the camera to shoot without a lens.

[L-Mount] I have owned this lens for just over three months now.

I spent a good amount of time searching for an inexpensive alternative to the native 50mm lenses from Fujifilm. I think the Fuji lenses are great, but are out of my budget as a hobbiest photographer, so I did some research and found this little gem.

For the price, I don't think it can be beat. Its low light capability is truly awesome! I have been very pleased with the images it produces, and it is built well. The focus ring works very well. I grew up using manual lenses, so I don't mind them at all. In fact, I actually prefer manual lenses for most of what I do. The aperture ring is smooth, and has very satisfying clicks at every half-stop all the way through its range (f/1.2 to f/16). It is a bit on the heavy side, but what can you expect for something with an aperture of 1.2?

All in all, I give this lens a 5/5. I honestly don't think it can be beat within its price range. There are certainly better lenses out there, but unless you are willing to pay 4 to five times the price, I would suggest taking a serious look at this little gem of a lens.

[f/1.2] This is my first manual lens. I wanted to get more creative and this lens was highly recommended by a friend. I have only used it on two outings. I had to get used to adjusting the focus myself but once I got the focus correct, the image quality is very nice. I will use this lens primarily for landscape photography.

[f/1.2] The saying goes that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But this lens is an exception. Right off the bat, this lens feels like a vintage Leica, Zeiss, or Nikkor lens from the 50s or 60s. It is all metal construction and feels very solid. Focusing is very smooth and the aperture ring has click stops. Optically, it is very sharp even wide open. There is perhaps a very slight softening at the maximum aperture of f1.2 but this is true of virtually any fast lens, even very expensive ones. Color rendition is very good. This lens would be a bargain at three or four hundred dollars but at this price it is a steal.

[10] I was honestly a bit nervous buying this lens but for only $100 I figured it wouldn't be much of a loss if I didn't like it. Seeing the cheap packaging didn't make me feel too much better about the purchase but once I opened the box, I wound up being very surprised by how great this lens looked (minus the tacky logo) and felt in my hand. This solid metal lens definitely feels very premium with a nice distinct click on the aperture ring, a very smooth focus ring, and in my case a nice snug fit onto my Fujifilm X-T4. Overall the lens is very sharp aside from being wide open and the vignetting disappears by f4. There is also quite a bit of chromatic aberration in high contrast areas but that and the vignetting are so easy to fix in Lightroom so I don't consider it an issue. The lens definitely has its quirks but it was nothing that made me feel like this lens was a bad deal and in some cases, I actually like the imperfections when paired with my Fujifilm. If you're looking for a lens to use for commercial work, I would wonder why you were considering this lens in the first place but for more artistic applications this lens is a great option that punches well above its weight even for professional applications where absolute perfect image quality and auto focus are not a necessity. I'm now very interested in trying the other lenses that TTArtisan has to offer. I just wish they would change their logo!

[Manual Focus] Great lens. This is my second TTArtisan lens and I love them both. Everything I've read and have learned from courses I've taken has said to get off the auto mode. TTArtisan has made it easy for me to transition to manual mode. This is my second lens the 40mm f/2.8 being the first. I really like both of them and plan on adding to my TTArtisan arsenal. Thank You.

[Manual Focus] I absolutely love this lens. It can capture sharp images, has nice bokeh and it's very easy and comfortable to handle. The only downside is that it's a little heavy but at least feels very sturdy and well made.
Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a manual focus prime lens on a budget.

[52 mm (Front)] Only taken it out a couple times but it's a great lens for the price. I've been buying manual lenses recently to try different styles of photography on a budget and this one is probably the best. The aperture ring is smooth with gentle clicks at each stop, I found the focus ring motion to be smooth with a slight resistance that's the right feel. Photo quality (if you can get your subject in focus at f/1.2) is really quite good, very clear and sharp in the center, minimal loss of light or detail in the edges.

[Manual Focus] Under valued I would say. This is a great lens with great color and overall performance. A new favorite. It is sharp and even performs well enough for portrait. I purchased for an art lens to create content. It is well made and solid with attention to detail. This is not a $1000 lens but at the price offered... it is worth for more then the price I paid. This is a must purchase.

[f/16] So, I'm a huge fan of Voigtlander's super fast primes. But the price tag is hefty. I spotted this little lens, read some reviews, and purchased it. At approx 1/10 the price of Voigtlander, I couldn't go wrong with this price tag. If the lens is junk, I'm only out $100. Well worth the risk, I thought.

I was right. This little lens feels every bit as solid as it's expensive counterpart, and although the image quality is not quite that of Voigtlander, it takes a darn fine, super shallow depth of field photograph, with pleasing bokeh. I'm a fan, and will be buying some other TTArtisan lenses. Highly recommended!
