National Geographic Complete Photography Bookfrom National Geographic Complete Photography Bookis a comprehensive illustrated reference about photography and the camera.

This book combines how-to advice, knowledgeable commentary, and useful tips on how to take and look at photographs. Not just a how-to book, it is a how-does-it-work book, focusing on cameras, photographs, and photographers. Throughout, voices and photographs from the greatest of National Geographic photographers add authority to these pages. Chapters build from camera basics-like how a digital camera works, what different lenses do, and the definition of exposure-to advanced and specific techniques-such as taking the best family candids, underwater photography, or techniques for capturing fireworks on film. Every chapter includes a feature called "My Perspective," highlighting a National Geographic photographer and his or her work with a personal note on photography. Every chapter ends with a feature called "What Makes This Photograph Great?"-twelve different iconic National Geographic photographs are analyzed thoroughly for their subject matter, composition, lighting and exposure-by James P. Blair, longtime National Geographic photographer. A fascinating illustrated timeline of photography places milestone moments in the developing technology and art of photography into historic context. With something for everyone, novice and experienced amateur alike, designed in such a way that a reader can dip in and out of page after page, this complete reference will become a family favorite, to which young and old will refer over and over for years to come.

[2.85 lb] This is a great size travel bag, not too big, not too small. Some kind of buckle would be a little easier than the loops, but so far it's not too big of a deal.

[2.85 lb] I almost didn't buy it because cheesy cobranding usually results in an inferior product with an expensive name. But it met the specs I needed, it's actually made by Monfrotto, and the DealZone price was worth taking a chance.

Man, am I glad I bought this bag.

It's a great size--holds everything I need it to: a caged EOS RP with zoom attached, another body, 2-3 more lenses, a tablet or small laptop, lots of accessories, batteries, a tripod on the exterior... (Nothing personal against Lawrence, but he was clearly reviewing a different bag).

Build quality is great, I love that the main pouch is accessed from the reverse side and note the usual exposed exterior or side zippers--keeps things much more secure.

Well constructed with a an unusually (for this product category) tasteful color scheme.

I'd say this bag is worth it's usual price, but if it shows up in a DealZone again, grab it!

[September, 2011] Great bag that holds most of my camera gear! I can fit my body with a telephoto lens and a few other lenses. I would make the side holders larger for bottles and tripods. Other than that! It's superb

[408] Just the right size for my Fuji X-T30 and a couple of lenses. Nice top loader for extra equipment and side zipper for SD cards and lens wipes or filters. B&H, no surprise, always has awesome products. I love this bag and hope to use it for years to come. If you have a big camera I would look elsewhere. This is a perfect bag for smaller cameras.

[September, 2011] This backpack is the perfect size. It's on the smaller end, and as a smaller human I find it to fit just right. The pads are where they should be for optimum comfort. I like that you can access the top compartment through the back via zipper and it's made of solid fabrics.

[Hard] Very informative and easy to read and understand. With any book about photography people need to understand no matter if the book is 10 yrs old or 10 days old the exposure triangle, white balance, shutter speed maintains the same principles. The tecniques in this book are explained and provides images and settings. Also the author offers assignments for practice. If you're an advanced
Landscape/nature photographer you will know most if not all the material coverded. That said, This book may be easier for someone to understand and actually learn something that you did'nt learn from a hard to follow book full of one liners.

[Hard] very well made, a little bigger than my lowepro tahoe which it replaces. and especially with much more storage space, I can put my Z6 + 24-70 / f4 + 40mm + 28mm and a 105mm and my Nisi filters and acc. it is very comfortable to carry, really the best travel camera bag I have bought.

[September, 2011] I have been photographing since the 1950's for fun and profit. College photographer, US Army photographer, US Army Corps of Engineers photographer, small town wedding photographer, weekly newspaper sports photographer and now just fine art. Mostly on a second job basis. Nature, wildlife, and travel photography have always been a second interest. This book is as complete, understandable, comprehensive (for the film to digital crossover like me), and well illustrated as you can find. It will be a fun read as well as reference book from now on. Right on Sean!

[September, 2011] I got this on a Daily Deal, but feel it would be worth the frontline price, honestly. It's well-made, a well thought out and high quality. I used the main compartment to hold my EOS-R w/100-400 attached and a 35mm, 24-105, 10-18 EF with adapter, and a couple spare batteries. I stuck a couple of medium format film cameras in the top compartment along with a few other doo-dads and still haven't used all the space and compartments this thing has. It's truly a great fit for me.
