I have a lot of location shoots where electricity is not an option. These adapter plates easily attach to my LED light panels and now I can get location light with Sony NP-F batteries. This is a great product and, as long as they last, I'm in business.

Make any NP-F battery devove turn into a much longer way to power it long. Caution should be taken as not all devices support 16.6 Volts, ESPECIALLY CAMCORDERS and small lights, with one exception such as the genaray TrailBlazer, a NPF battery based light that accepts voltages from 7.4 to 18 Volts! So that's not a problem since the unregulated voltage that leaves this adapter is a maximum of 16.5V, being the same voltage that usually outputs from the main connectors or D-Tap ports. That means, that you can install a FULL SIZE 200 WATT-HOUR V-Mount battery on that and it will be powered until next century at 100%.

Read the manual of the device you're using this on, make sure it supports 16.6 volts and more. I'm all about convenience and ways to hack powering things, and this product is one heck of a very cool and needed adapter!

Dracast Dual NP-F to V-Mount Battery Converter Plate

Works as advertised for the NP-F975 batteries on my Genaray SP-E-360B light.

Simple and effective converter letting me leave my AC adapters at home. My Dracast 6600mAh batteries power all my lamps in various configurations for hours of creative work in video and still work.

These adapter plates work really well. They don't have a battery level test, but for the money they work. I have one with battery level and two without. For the way I use them I can save the money for these without that feature.

There's no reason to run a small COB light like that on AC power for regular field shooting. With two 6600 mAh batteries, I run a CL60 at 80 % for 1h45 min. Yes the D-tap plug is a bit loose but it's ok, the power indicator on the plate gives it a 5 stars. It has only for leds but the last one dims when the power gets low.

I've spent hundreds of dollars on v-mount batteries that last less than 2 hours powering a light. This lasts about the same length of time, but I have a bunch of NP-F batteries lying around and they're a quarter the price of v-mounts. Another big benefit is that NP-F's are easier to travel with.

I really like the way it attaches to the fixture and I love the power indicator. My batteries don't have one.

It would be nice if the AC could attached like that.


I had little spots that were overheating went used with batteries

'cause the fan didn't work without AC. The CL60 fan's is operationnal

when used with this set up but don't go too high on brightness. With two NP of 4400mAh, the CL60 at 40 % and 4000K, it ran for 2 hours.
Another pair of identical batteries lasted 20 minutes. So check your batteries and if the amount of time is not sufficent, the problem is there.
When I use a spot on batteries, it's because I want to be quick or I'm outside at night, in dim places... It's not to fight a strong backlight. 40% on the CL60 is strong enough.

I use these with an Dracast interview light kit that is native to V mount batteries. My existing adapter plate is much thicker, so when I bought a pair of the Andycine adapter plates I was pleased to note now much thinner they are. This makes them easier to pack to take to a shoot.
