Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with a windshield?

A: Yes, the Rode VideoMic GO II Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone comes with a foam windscreen.

Q: 2. Can you leave the case plugged in and use it as a charging station when not on the go?

A: Yes, the RODE Charging Case for Wireless GO II can be plugged in and used as a charging station when not on the go.

Q: 3. Does it work with a Canon DSLR EOS Rebel SL3, and what cable would I need to plug the mic directly into the camera? Thank you.

A: This Rode VideoMic GO II Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone can plug into any camera with a mic jack, including the SL3. There would be an included 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, so you don't need to purchase anything extra.

Q: 4. Does this come with the black foam cover as well? I also want the foam black one as well.

A: Yes, the RODE VideoMic GO II does come with a black foam windscreen, as well as the RODE WS12 Deluxe Windshield for VideoMic GO II, which is the fur windshield included with the kit.

Q: 5. Is the housing of the mic made of metal or plastic?

A: The barrel of the Rode VideoMic GO II Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone is made of metal while the mic's shock mount is made of plastic.

Q: 6. One of the answers in hear says that this comes with the fur windscreen, one says it does not. Which is it?

A: Mine came with a foam windscreen/cover, not a fur one.

Q: 7. Can the Rode VideoMic GO II Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone be used with a Canon DSLR EOS Rebel SL3, and what cable would I need to plug the mic directly into the camera? Thank you.

A: Because the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 DSLR Camera does not supply plug-in power to connected external microphones, it is not compatible for use with the Rode VideoMic GO II Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone. The VideoMic GO II requires power from its source connection for proper operation. A compatible microphone for the EOS Rebel SL3 would require the ability to power itself via internal battery. Q: 8. Will this be compatible with the Rode Wireless Go II Magnetic Clips?

A: Yes, the RODE Charging Case for Wireless GO II can be used with the magnetic clips attached. The second photo shows the transmitters and receiver with the magnetic clips attached.

Q: 9. Is this mic compatible with other brand wireless mics?

A: The Rode VideoMic GO II Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone can be used with any 3.5mm TRS input connection providing voltage in the form of plug-in power, which is a common spec for many wireless microphone transmitters.

Q: 10. Can this mic send a monitoring feed from the 3.5mm jack? Meaning that I could use a splitter to separate the feed going to my camera and monitor the mic? Thanks!

A: The Rode VideoMic GO II requires either plug-in power or USB power to function. If the mic is connected to a camera's 3.5mm mic input to function using plug-in power, its 3.5mm output cannot be split or it will not receive the voltage it needs, When the mic is powered via USB, the 3.5mm output can be used as a headphone jack to monitor the audio. With that in mind, if the mic is receiving voltage via USB, then you should be able to use the 3.5mm output with a splitter to send analog audio to your your camera and headphones.

[Black] This product works great but know that it is not a OEM Insta360 product. I was surprised that no mention was made in product description of Ulanzi.

The PT20 works fine, hides perfect in the 360 seam and hold the Rode well.

[Black] Really nice adapter for mounting my Rode Wireless Go 2 microphone on. It hides it perfect in the shots outdoors with good light. I noticed sometimes indoors it doesn't always hide it but I think that's due to the lighting conditions indoors versus bright outside shots.

[Black] Go on and get this for your insta 360 camera. What you do is take the hole at the bottom of this adapter and poke your thread selfie stick through it and thread it to the bottom of your camera. Make sure this settles along the side of your camera so it doesn't show up in your 360 footage and if you have the Rode wireless go, wireless Go II or the Wireless go ME you can mount them flawlessly onto this adapter.

Disclaimer: you'll want to also purchase the insta360 audio adapter so you can actually connect your rode mics to your insta360.

So you purchase this adapter to mount your RODE wireless mics to and the insta360 microphone adapter to plug that TRS cable your Rode wireless microphone came with into and that's all you'll need as far as that goes. There is an alternative to this adapter but it wouldn't help B&H. However.....this is your cheaper solution
