This monitor supports DCI 4K HDMI footage and can even record ProRes RAW up to 8K with compatible cameras. The Ninja Ultra retains the same form factor as its predecessors to be compatible with most Atomos monitor accessories for easy integration with your preexisting equipment.

Built for the new Ninja Ultra, the AtomOS 11 operating system equips your monitor with new features along with an improved icon interface for more intuitive operation. Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, EL Zone colorized exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssit, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides are among the many monitor assist functions available. The AtomHDR processing engine allows for real-time Log to PQ/HLG previewing.

The 5.2" IPS touchscreen of the Ninja Ultra offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with 1000 cd/m² brightness for viewing in broad daylight. The 10-bit color processing, Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support ensure color-accurate, high-quality monitoring of your footage.

The Ninja Ultra supports the use of select Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon log formats. Upload custom 3D LUTs to the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.

[Yes] Love it! Been shooting for a few weeks now and it is Exceptional in all facets. 10 BIT GALORE and the slow mo is beautiful as well. The V-LOG is so easy to grade and the custom settings/ease of use with the camera are second to none! I do wish the LCD screen and the viewfinder were higher Nits but other than that its wonderful to work with. Thanks Lumix! Pany boy for Life!

[1x L-Series] Incredibly well built. The cooling fan is superb. The new dual gain sensor over-performs for a Micro Four Thirds chip. The GH6 has almost every tool and setting that any video operator could ever dream of. This camera can shoot 5.9k video ALL day long without overheating. I literally tested this for 2 days straight. The EVF and LCD screens a clear and bright. No,...the autofocus is NOT as good as Canon or Sony...but...its starting to get OK. Its decent now at holding well on subjects but background pulsing is still there. Its not as bad as past Lumix cameras and its a definite improvement. To sum it up...this camera supprised the heck out of me. I was expecting to return it after testing it. However, I was wrong. It's a very impressive camera that won me over completely. It says in my collection.

[1.715 lb] I think I was one of the first ones to order the GH6 from B&H (right at 5pm when it became available). I love this camera. I have 2 GH5S's and I wish I had 2 more GH6's instead. V-log L in the Gh5S was too noisy so I use HLG and get a beautiful, low noise image. But the GH6 in V-Log or HLG are a step above when exposed correctly. Very clean. I have shot in prores @ 5.7K and in H.265 @ 5.7K. The H.265 is a little hard on my desk top editing computer (10 core, water cooled i9). But Prores plays like butter. The only thing is with Prores @ 1.9G per secound, my Angelbird 512G CF Express card only has 34minutes but in H.265 it is over 5 hours. The 1.3G per second Prores records for 54 minutes. Big difference! I recommend the Angelbird 512GB AV PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B SE memory card for $180.00. It will record all the speed hungry codecs. Most people give this camera a hard time because of auto-focus. I don't care about auto-focus. I have 3 Meike primes, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm and a DZO 20-70mm zoom. Also a Olympus Pro 12-100mm lens. It is my walk around photo lens although I some times use it for video too. The more I use the GH6 the more I love it. Maybe down the road I'll replace my GH5S's with Gh6's. I can always wish can't I.

[1920 x 1080] Let me start by saying that there is no perfect unicorn camera, but this camera presents itself as a next wave, mirrorless powerhouse. Panasonic upgraded this camera from the GH5 family in so many ways. The list of features all deliver and the look of the image is just incredible.

I have used it on a few shoots and have not been afraid to use any of its video quality settings. I have no fear of overheating and the unlimited record limit keeps my mind on my shots and not the camera.

Some things on it could still be better (I'm not going to say it), but it is a big improvement from the GH5.

Also, in a time when camera manufacturers can easily get greedy, Panasonic obviously chose to keep the price at a point that makes sense.

[8] I purchased a GH6 towards the end of December but had to RMA it for a replacement because of a few bugs it had. I had a chance to put my replacement through various tests on a weekend long shoot and I must say whatever Panasonic did to improve this particular sensor they really knocked it outta the ball park. Most of my shooting was indoors, available light (because of extreme time constraints on this particular shoot. I HATE those conditions but I promised the guy I'd help him) and what surprised the hell outta me was its dynamic range (without using the dynamic range boost feature) AND the fact I had the ISO set to 100! I was getting a T2.2 reading with a few overhead fluorescent lights! I couldn't believe it! I am so used to shooting the native 400 ISO on my GH5 and GH5s that I am amazed I could get great exposure and DR indoors at 100 ISO with this GH6. What I also love is being able to record to an external SSD, internal Apple ProRes and the myriad of function button settings I can customize. Battery life is so so as I get about an hour an five minutes per battery shooting C4K, Apple ProRes, 24.00p to the SSD which does eat up alot of juice. I am so enamored with this camera that I am considering buying a second as a backup. I have no desite to go APS-C, full frame or monkey around with speedboosters. The video images with my native MFT lenses look really great.

[2:2, 3:2] I've been a long time GH series user, largely for video. I have found this to be a very worthwhile upgrade from the GH5. The increased available resolution, the thoughtful though somewhat overwhelming range of recording quality settings, the improved image quality, particularly at higher ISOs and improved handling address quite a few of the challenges I had been facing in the past. There is a learning curve, however, even coming from the GH5. Again, for me this had more to do with the radical increase in the available options for shooting.

[Yes] this is an amazing and versatile camera. I have been using Lumix cameras for some time and love them. This is a true advance in the Panasonic line of cameras and I love it, and will for years to come I'm sure. Thanks

[427 ppi] I shoot films and we don’t always (almost never) have permits so I wanted a run and gun cine camera that I don’t have to rig out like my Z cam M4 or my BMPCC (og 4K). If you like myself have manual focus MFT cine glass, this is one of the best cameras money can by. It does everything so well. I recently won a photo competition and had one of my shots published. (Almost all of the other competing photographers were shooting full frame lol)

I thought I’d be using ProRes more but I’ve been shooting and editing the 5.8K open gate .MOV files w the Sirui Anamorphic's and the footage is so beautiful and easy to grade. Vlog is stunning for video color grading using the CST tool in Resolve.

I have one piece of constructive criticism for Panasonic… Please add low pass filters (OLPF) to your video focused cameras. Sharpness is easily fixable in post; aliasing/false colors/moire is almost impossible to correct in Resolve.

[1x L-Series] This is a worthy upgrade to the GH5. I have used all the Panasonic cameras from GH2 to the GH6. This one does everything. The IBIS is great. The ability to punch in while recording is a feature I have been wanting. The recording options are fantastic. I love this camera.

[1x USB-C] Too soon for a full review. First blush testing shows this to be the best sensor yet. The ergonomics of the camera are the same as the full frame version. They have added more articulation to the LCD screen, and a built in fan. Slapping the same lenses I use on the GH5 and GH5s reveals an even greater degree of sharpness. Exciting! The fact that you can record in ProRes directly into the camera is fantastic. And the rich number of codecs available is unparalleled in any other camera.

This iteration of the firmware limits the ProRes to the 5728 x 3024 formats, unfortunately. So a 256GB CF card only holds about 25 minutes of video. But Panasonic has promised that future firmware will allow for SSD recordings through the built in USB-C port. And that more flavors of ProRes (6 currently) will be available. (We need 1920x1080 ProRes and ProRes LT to make this more practical.)

But other codecs include H.264 and H.265 in various flavors - there are 36 different options which is really incredible if not a bit overwhelming.

They say that the autofocus is improved, and there is a lot of menu options for this, but I rarely use it. Photos look lovely. Note that the RAW format is not yet updated for Adobe editing. Panasonic has a free software called Silkypix that allows you to edit RAW until Adobe releases their update.

I am as excited about this camera as I was about the GH5. And at this price point, I will easily be able to buy a second copy.
