The ND filter reduces light and effectively reduces shutter speed. It reduces the light entering the camera and increases exposure time to capture beautiful light trails and night scenes.

The filter is made of PC environmental protection material. It is lightweight and wear and pressure resistant.

The multilayer nano coating protects the lens surface.

The optical glass is matte black to prevent light leakage and ghosting.

Adjust the grayscale according to exposure needs to select different stops to reduce brightness.

Some features include anti-fingerprint coating, anti-scratch high-hardness coating, and anti-oil coating for easy cleaning.

Due to the difference of the 67mm size, the filter box is different from others, which makes it easy to carry and store.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the lens hood of Sony 70-200 GMII fit over the filter?

A: No, the PolarPro 77mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop) will not fit the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens with a lens hood.

Q: 2. Is there a "minimum" spot on this filter that is light enough to focus through? Or are you trying to focus through the 6-stop ND?

A: The best way to focus with a strong ND filter like the PolarPro 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop)is to use the live view feature if you are using a DSLR. The monitor will compensate for the filter and show a well exposed image on the LCD. Mirrorless cameras are always in live view mode so the image is visible due to the compensation. Alternatively you can remove the filter, compose and focus the shot, then attach the filter for the exposure.

Q: 3. Does it work in continuous autofocus mode of sony cameras with the Sony FE 28 mm f/2 Lens?

A: If the filter is set to the darker end, that may interfere with the continuous autofocus.

Q: 4. Are the filters glass? or acrylic/plastic?

A: The filters on the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter are made of glass.

Q: 5. What is the difference between the Peter McKinnon Signature Edition PolarPro 77-6/9 filter for 249.99 vs. the one for 299.99?

A: The Polar Pro Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II ($249.99) is the newer variant of the filter. It has a haptic feedback mechanism that clicks to indicate when you've reached the next or previous stop. The ring is also a bit more gold than it's predecessor and comes in a smaller environmental friendly package. The older version ($299) comes in a bigger fancier box, does not have the haptic feedback and is optically the same as the newer variant. If I were you, I would go with the Signature Edition II, it's cheaper and it's the most updated version of the filter.

Q: 6. Will this fit canon drop in filters?

A: No, Neewer EF to EOS R Mount Adapter with Variable ND Filter (1.5-9 Stop) uses a properitary drop in filter.

Q: 7. What's the difference between this filter and the seemingly identical Edition I version, which is $50 cheaper right here at B&H?

A: The version II has haptic feedback, so each stop has a click to notify you when you've reached the desired stop without really looking. It comes in a much smaller, eco-friendly package, a newly designed defender case and the trim is a little bit more gold. Optically there really isn't a difference. I have the original 2-5 and the newer 6-9 and the image is identical. Different color shifts but it's almost non-existant. Hopefully this helps!

Q: 8. so if I put this on an f4 lens does that make it an f2 lens

A: The filter does not change the aperture of the lens. It reduces the amount of light that reaches the lens by 2 to 5 stops depending on where it is set. In essence, it would change your f4 lens into an f8-22 depending on the density level you choose.

Q: 9. What's the front filter thread size of this filter?

A: The front filter thread is 67mm

Q: 10. Can I use this to photograph an annular (ring of fire) eclipse?

A: No, the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (67mm) is not for solar photography and one you can damage one's eyes and possible the camera. Best would be to use one like, https://bhpho.to/45StKoi.

[Aluminum] Congratulations, you've found what you're looking for.

Smooth, de-clicked dial for maximum precision, all metal construction, and built with Min/Max stops to prevent the ugly X a lot of VNDs suffer from. There's also very little (if any) noticeable color shift in the image.

I shot on my Sony a7s classic in the snow on a partly sunny day at ISO 3200 (minimum allowed in video mode) with my 50mm f/1.4 lens wide open and still didn't need to max this filter out. The amount of lighting control this allows for is invaluable. Highly recommended!

[Multi-Coating] Great filter. Pics turned out great. (If I had to pick something) Only knock is the lack of threads for a ND filter on the outside.

[Aluminum] A neutral density filter is one of the must have filters for any photographer. I choose this one for the ability to adjust with out having to put on or take off different levels. Very convenient. I have had no issues with this filter and I love it.
