This 82mm Kase Wolverine Neutral Night Light Pollution Filter 82mmfrom Kase Wolverine Neutral Night Light Pollution Filter 82mmremoves the yellow cast caused by light pollution during night photography, isolating the harmful effect of artificial lights on imaging. Especially useful for late-night, long-exposure imaging near cities or other sources of light pollution, this filter cuts light from the color spectrum, like that from low-CRI light sources. This graduated filter produces the full correction effect at the top of the image area, but it tapers off to leave the foreground area of the frame uncorrected, with normal coloration.

This filter is made of shock-resistant optical glass and features multicoating for optimal sharpness, light transmission, and the reduction of flare. The coating also resists water and oil, as well as scratches and minor abrasions, making it ideal for use on location in harsh environments. It attaches to a lens in seconds using the included 82mm magnetic adapter ring, which allows up to four magnetic filters to be stacked for combined effects.

Q: 1. Is the glass for the CPL supposed to rattle inside the circular frame ? Because mine does..

A: While the filter may not be designed to rattle, circular polarizer filters are made of moving parts. It may be the retaining spring holding the glass in the filter may be loose, or another moving part may cause some rattle. That being said, if you are not happy with your filter or you feel your filter may be defective, do note you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return your filter for an exchange or refund.

[Glass] After using screw in filters for years, this new magnetic filter set from Kase is fantastic.
Why? For example... you are standing at Glacier Point in Yosemite and your camera is setup and hanging over the edge and it's windy and cold. After you are all setup, you realize you need your polarizer and neutral density filters. Who wants to fiddle with trying to screw in filters wearing gloves. You're going to miss the shot, or the filter is going to slip and fall into the valley.
Not only did I get this set, but I purchased Kase filter rings for my esoteric (IR) filters to use on this Kase system.

[0.19 lb] I really like the fact that Kase answers questions about their products here on B&H. Says a lot about them. I don't believe they were the first company to come out with magnetic filters but man have they done a great job implementing them. I purchased same size as my two main lens and the adapter does a great job staying out of the way. Lens hood and cap both function as normal. Using them in field is game changer for me as it is so much easier to add or remove filters as needed now. Doing so is extremely quick and easy especially if you are in tricky situation like on rocks around waterfall. I'll be getting adapter rings for all my lens. Only slight complaint is the polarizer is not as strong as others but convenience of it far outweighed that issue. ND filters had zero color cast that I could see. Even the 10 stop. I will probably add 15 stop and night filter to my kit which I believe is the biggest compliment I can give them.

[Light Pollution] If you're looking for quick, easy to use in the field or on a tripod without extra, these are the right filters for you. I'd looked at filter systems for a while and never felt satisfied with plates and holders. Too many pieces that have to be held or moved from one container to another, but require additional handling once one. Screw on filters seemed like the best option, though I knew I'd have to go bigger than my largest lens. Enter Magnetic filters! They do everything I need, simply, and I never worry they're going to fall off.

Now, for graduated horizon needs, these aren't likely to be your best bet, but besides that, I see no other reason I'll ever use a different filter system!

Love the build quality, love the simple and usable holder, and image quality has been excellent!

[Glass] I absolutely love this filter set! I went with the 82 mm filter set and bought the 72 to 82 mm step-up ring and the 77 to 82 mm step-up ring. The magnetic filters make it so easy to use and make stacking multiple filters a breeze! If you are looking for something that is easy to use out in the field these are the filters for you!

[Aluminum] I spent a lot of money on polar pro ND filters and loved them, but always worried whether I'd have to struggle to get them off even the high quality brass adaptor rings. Then my PMVND got stuck on an adapter ring and 2 weeks later, I still haven't gotten it off. Given the video I do, I have to have ND filters. Being unable to get one off an adapter ring can screw up an entire shoot. So I picked up the Kase Wolverine Magnet filters and could not be more pleased. The magnet is strong enough that it holds them on with no problem. The set is well made and the glass is excellent. Most important, I never worry now about whether I'll have to take a hammer to an ND filter to get it off the adapter. I would have saved a lot of money, anxiety, and headaches if this had been available when I first started investing in ND filters. Yes, it's pricey. But if you have to have the right ND filter and you want to avoid the worry about whether you'll ever get it off your adapter ring, Kase Wolverine is the way to go.

[Aluminum] Good quality. I haven't noticed any color cast. Was a little concerned about losing filters or cap while hiking. Magnet is strong and so far haven't lost anything. Would buy again.

[Glass] Very happy with the Wolverine magnetic filters - super easy to stack and combine without worrying about lining up threads or taking time to switch out filters while that perfect shot windo fades away!

[Aluminum] I'll never go back to screw-in filters. I use this with the Kase Magnetic Step-Up Ring for Wolverine Magnetic Filters (77 to 82mm) so that I have no risk of vignetting when I stack ND filters.
My only wish the branding on the lens cap wasn't so prominent...
