This 11mm lens will produce a classic wide-angle look or up to a 123° viewing angle in the 2.39:1 widescreen format, depending on your camera's sensor. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot.

A Multi-Start Thread focusing mechanism delivers quiet, precise focusing even in wet or humid conditions or in extreme temperatures. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the IRIX 150mm work with a Canon EOS R5 and all or any of the Canon EF/RF adapters?

A: This is a manual lens with no automatic control. The EF version of this lens can be used on the RF with any of the EF to RF lens adapters. Keep in mind that all lens control will be manual.

Q: 2. Is it true that with this lens and my really right stuff ball head and tripod, I will need no special plate to hold it in?

A: That is correct.

Q: 3. Is the tripod collar removable?

A: Yes, the tripod collar is removable on this lens.

Q: 4. Does the IRIX 150mm work with a Canon EOS R and R5 using any of the Canon EF/RF adapters?

A: The IRIX 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens for Canon EF is a manual lens. It will work on the Canon EOS R using a Canon EF to RF adapter in manual mode.

Q: 5. How do you change the aperture?

A: Through the body of the camera, just like any other digital camera. I'm assuming you have digital camera? A film camera is not compatible.

Q: 6. how does this lens compare to the Sigma 150 2.8 macro os ?

A: The IRIX 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens is a weather resistant manual focus Macro lens with sharp glass and a haze coating to create more contrast in the images. The 1.1" minimum focusing distance for the IRIX lens is similar to the 1.25" for the Sigma lens. The Sigma APO Macro 150mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Lens is a auto focus lens with a image stabilization, in a well built, (not as weather resistant as the IRIX), lens body. The Sigma specs say: " The optical design employs three SLD elements to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color rendering. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied for greater contrast when working in strong lighting conditions" Both lenses will work fine for macro photography, the Sigma is autofocus, more durable and offers more edge sharpness. The IRIX focuses closer and cost a bit less.

Q: 7. Is there any advantage to using PL over EF mount for use on a Canon C500 mkii?

A: PL tends to be a stronger locking connection over EF. Also, the Canon C500 camera has a PL mount version that may require you to work with PL lenses.

Q: 8. Can the Tamron 2x teleconverter (model TC-X20C-700) be used with this lens?

A: Unfortunately, the Tamron TC-X2-C-700 is not compatible with the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens for Canon EF.

Q: 9. Can I use this lens for my Nikon D5600. And is it deliverable and serviceable in India

A: This lens is compatible with the D5600, with a crop factor of 1.5X applied to its focal length and manual focus only. We can ship this to India, however the manufacturer's warranty is not supported there. You would have the option of purchase a Squaretrade protection plan on this lens which can work in India against defects or accidental damage. You can can see and compare those plans by adding the lens to your online cart.

Q: 10. Would the viewfinder on EOS R bodies blackout during exposure or will changing the aperture on the lens reflect correctly in the viewfinder and LCD screen?

A: With the Eos R cameras you the EVF displays the same information that you see in Live View, and you can preview exposure settings. You can also use the LCD. This is part of what makes it great for astrophotography.

[T4.3] And much lighter than a Canon 100mm macro. The extra 50mm is ideal for macro work. The lack of stabilization is a non-issue as macro work always requires a tripod. Well-constructed and seemingly durable at a very good price. Recommended.

[43.3 mm] This lens works as advertised. It has a ton of professional features and a lower price range.

[T4.3] The IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine is my go-to for shooting in tight spaces, like car interiors. Its wide-angle capability allows for capturing extensive detail in confined areas, making it ideal for automotive shoots. The T2.6 aperture ensures excellent performance in low-light conditions, crucial for maintaining quality inside vehicles.

Balancing impressively on gimbal rigs, it proves to be a versatile workhorse, capable of handling dynamic shots with stability and clarity. Its durable build adds to its reliability, making it a trustworthy choice for demanding environments.

In short, the IRIX 15mm T2.6 combines wide-angle versatility, low-light proficiency, and rugged durability, standing out as an essential lens for producing high-quality, creative shots in limited spaces. It’s a valuable asset for any video project requiring sharp and expansive visuals in compact settings.

[Full Frame] Feels solid, but isn't overly heavy. Image quality is great and distortion is reasonable. I shoot it both full frame and S35 and it handles both well.

As others have said, it's true that the lens cap is wonky. Apparently they have a fixed one that you can order separately and hopefully that's what will ship with new copies of the lens.

I use it via an adapter and did have a little trouble finding a friendly one. Fotodiox PL-EF did NOT work. I eventually went with some no-names on eBay that did.

[T4.3] Remarkable value in a macro, I used to have a Tokina 100mm but didn't use it much, I really enjoy the added working distance on the 150. I was shopping for a 180 or 200 but the price difference wasn't worth it for a specialty lens. This one is perfect, especially with the Nikon ZF peak focusing aid.

[11mm] Okay so I took my new toy to Costa Rica for two weeks just after receiving it, thinking that I might use it 50% of the time at best. Well as it turns out, I took roughly 90% of my shots with that lens mounted on my Pentax K70 and the performance was stellar. Smooth focus ring, fast enough for the dark rainforest, sharp as a tack and buttery smooth bokeh. A wide angle IRIX lens is next.

[T22] 15mm on S35 is great. I thought this would be too wide and wished IRIX made a 25 or 35 but actually to compliment the existing 45 they sell this 15 is a good match feeling wide but not super distorted wide. Magnetic hoods are cool, but not so much if you are filming metalworking - all the dust just sits on those magnets. Minor quibble but the lens is great!

[T4.3] I.Q. is sharp, but lens is heavy.
You'll need a tripod, esp for macro shot.
Lens is very good quality.

[Multi-Coating] I couldn't imagine a lens being this good for macro photography. I'm really happy with it. See the results with the photos I uploaded. It's really fun to use. It's built very well and includes a nice arca type tripod collar and foot.
