The 67mm Haida PROII CPL-VND 67mm 3-7 Stop Filterfrom Haida PROII CPL-VND 67mm 3-7 Stop Filteris a variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 3 to 7 stops. The 0.9 to 2.1 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast, as well as precise positioning of the front ring.

The Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter is a variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 3 to 7 stops. The 0.9 to 2.1 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast, as well as precise positioning of the front ring.

This PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, the glass features eight layers of multi-coating. These coatings also offer greater protection to a filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can one Circular Pola be removed and this be used as a circular pola as well as a VND (when both polas are present)?

A: To use the SmallRig VND Filter Set for Star-Trail and Revo-Arcane Matte Boxes as a variable ND you need both polarizing filters.

Q: 2. The hood of the Canon RF 70-200 no longer fits. Is there a hood that will fit over the filter?

A: The outer diameter of the PolarPro 77mm Peter McKinnon Mist Edition II VND ND4 to ND32 Filter (2 to 5-Stop) is 90mm; therefore, you will not be able to connect the Canon ET-83FW III Lens Hood on the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens. Unfortunately, the filter is not designed with front threads to connect clips on or thread in lens hoods.

Q: 3. I assume to use this you have to rotate the whole mounting assembly. Yes? How easy is this to do? Does this scratch up the lens housing?

A: This filter is rotated in the holder and is smooth functioning and does not scratch the housing.

Q: 4. Can this filter be cut down?

A: The Haida Red Diamond ND6.0 Filter (150 x 150mm, 20-Stop) is made with optical glass. Yes, you can cut the filter using the correct glass cutter materials. However, we do not recommend cutting it because the cut edges will be leaking light if they are not covered.

Q: 5. I have viltrox 56mm EF-M lense. Could you please let me know which side ND filter would fit to it

A: The Viltrox AF 56mm f/1.4 M Lens for Canon EF-M has 52mm filter threads, So you could use the Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (67mm) with the Sensei 52-67mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3LcEzcN.

Q: 6. Does this work with Canon EF to R lens adapter with drop in filter slot?

A: The Kolari Vision R Dark VND Filter (6-15 Stops) is compatible with the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R.

Q: 7. What size of drop-in filter does this take?

A: The Kolari Vision RF to EF Drop-In Filter Adapter with VND, CPL & Clear Drop-In Filters only fits the included drop in filters. For other types of filters, a front filter is recommended depending on the lens.

Q: 8. Is the rotation smooth like a 'declicked' cine iris ring or does it have click stops like a traditional photo lens iris ring?

A: No, the filter rotation is not smooth. As stated on page 7 of the User Manual for the PolarPro 95mm Peter McKinnon Mist Edition II VND ND4 to ND32 Filter (2 to 5-Stop), the filter is equipped with haptic feedback to improve the process of adjusting optical density.

Q: 9. Will this adapter work on a Canon R5C?

A: Yes, the Kolari Vision RF to EF Drop-In Filter Adapter with VND, CPL & Clear Drop-In Filters is compatible with the Canon EOS R5C.

Q: 10. Is there a version of the adapter that would work for RF to PL lenses and takes in the same filters?

A: There are no lens adapters for adapting RF lenses to any other mount.

[72 mm] Yeah not sure what that other guy is on about. This isn’t a perfect CPL but it’s not supposed to be. It just allows you to adjust the natural polarizing effect of a VND, not fully remove reflections. Anyways, it’s well built, a breeze to use, has minimal tint/color-shift and very little artifacting. My favorite VND I’ve ever used

[Multi Coated] After going through the reviews and comparisons, I decided to go with the Haida Clear Night filter. I bought the 67mm for use with my Sony 24mm f1.4 GM. First test was at Ft. Griffin which is a very dark site but you still get some light pollution on the horizon. What made me a believer in this filter was when I a couple photos, both with and without filter, as I was setting up. A quick view in the evf showed a dramatic difference between the two shots. As some have said, you do get more blue cast to the night sky, but I really like that look. And I can warm up whichever elements I want should I want to do that. All told a really nice LP filter. I liked it so much I purchased a 77mm version for other lenses.

[Multi Coated] Picked this up for use on my Canon R5C and I'm very impressed with the overall build quality. This is my first product by Kolari, but they have been on my radar for years with the Infrared conversions and magnetic filters they make. Happy to say this adapter and drop-in filters are very well built. The auto-focus features and communication with lens to camera has so far been perfect with my Sigma EF lenses, so I'm very pleased with that. The filters themselves are super clean and do not appear to have any color shifts or aberrations. And best of all, the control wheel for the VND is actually the right amount of resistance! Doesn't budge if you bump it (like the Canon brand one), but smoothly spins when you need to adjust it. At this price point, I'd recommend this kit over the Canon OEM alternative all day.

[Glass] This is a great idea of having these attached together! be warned it'll take some practice to effectively use the polarizer.
