[1.375 lb] Coming from the A7iii, this camera is a meaningful upgrade in almost every way. The autofocus, resolution, and fully-articulating screen are the most noticable upgrades on paper. But there are smaller upgrades that make a huge difference in the user experience. I'm talking about the improved ergonomics — a deeper and more comfortable grip; and the sound of the shutter — it's just more satisfying. Minor, I know, but improves the experience for me.

[1.375 lb] The Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera with 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens and Microphone Kit is a great combo kit option to save $'s if you are in need of each component.

[1.375 lb] I don't use this for mounting my camera to anything (which I think is what it is made for?). I just wanted to be able to fit my pinky finger on the camera when I was shooting. It is really well made, rock solid on the camera, totally flush to the body and doesn't block the battery door.


Sony's battery grip has a very visible gap between it and the A7IV. It's also too big, adds too much weight to the camera and is too expensive. Battery life isn't an issue for me with stills. I did an eight hour commercial shoot yesterday, took about 1200 pictures and changed my battery once.


So if you just need a bit more grip and don't need the vertical handle, controls, battery life, etc. this is a perfect solution.

[1.375 lb] I had a hard time deciding which Sony camera to purchase to be my go-to camera for both photo + video. I ended up going with this one and I'm really glad I did! So far switching between photo and video has been seamless and the mic that was included in this kit has also been fantastic.

[1.375 lb] Glad I made the switch to Sony from canon, even with a basic $300 85mm lens this thing kills it in low light.

[1.375 lb] This camera supports all the marketing efforts that we engage in. And beyond. We are primarily a social media marketing agency and have found that this camera can complete hq video production, as well as quick, on the go photography.

[1.375 lb] I shoot surf photography and I came from having a 5D Mk III with the Elite series housing purchased in 2014. The Edge series is a huge improvement. The back plate is always aligned with the bottom hinges and the electronic shutter works great. Additionally it's lighter and smaller than the Elite series. Highly recommend.
