A: No. There seems to be a website mixup here. This case did not even exist back in 2017 when several of these question about iPad fit were asked. It appears to me that "OtterBox Defender Smartphone Case for Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max" is not large enough for any iPad ever made. I did some referencing that seems to verify what I suspected. The smallest iPad ever made is much larger than this OtterBox case for iPhone. It appears some older questions about iPad fit got unintentionally connected to this specific product. The iPhone 12 Pro Max was not released by Apple until autumn of 2020 and later came this OtterBox case for it.

[Steel] I’m not sure which one you are asking about. I bought 2 for this iPad with the first one, the cover for the Apple Pencil broke off before I got the tablet installed. It went in the trash. I replaced it with another cover. At the same time I bought a case for my granddaughters Mini. It seems to work well and is very protective. Unfortunate it does not have provisions for the pencil. It works fine for her, but would be useless for me. 5

[3.505 lb] While it seems obvious to place some sort of protection around an iPad to prevent scratching, this is so much more than that. It's engineered to work as an extension of the device by triggering the screen to turn on and off, and it provides support when setting the iPad on a table. Why this isn't simply part of the iPad device is a reasonable question. I couldn't imagine a better accessory. 5
