Featuring an aluminum frame with small built-in magnets, the 10-stop Kolari Vision Magnetic ND Filter Canon RF-Mount 10-Stopfrom Kolari Vision Magnetic ND Filter Canon RF-Mount 10-Stopsecures magnetically to the camera mount, and your lens then mounts on top. The filter sits securely between the camera and lens. It's compatible with the Canon EOS R, R5, R6, and RP. Specifically for the Canon RP camera, a mag mount accessory is included. The Canon RP doesn't have the steel elements necessary to support the magnetic attachment of this filter. The mag mount has adhesive strips that provide a solution.

The filter material of the clip-in filter is glass. A small removal tool is included but not required. The compact tool looks like a guitar pick and is included just in case, as the filter can easily be removed by hand.

The ND filter darkens the image a bit when shooting in outdoor environments. It allows you to apply motion blur to moving subjects and lets you shoot with slower shutter speeds and longer exposures. In addition to this, this ND filter is also capable of being used in combination with infrared filters up to 720nm. One way of achieving this is by using it with a Kolari circular IR lens filter, sold separately. With the clip-in filter attached to the camera lens mount and the optional IR filter mounted on the front of your lens, you can have two filters working together simultaneously.

Also, this clip-in filter can be used in combination with the optional Kolari Canon RF to EF Drop-In Filter Adapter, which secures to the camera and holds a drop-in filter. When the clip-in filter is used together with the drop-in filter adapter, you can use two filters at the same time.

[Aluminum] I use a wide range of lenses, from cheap primes to large zooms, and my filter sizes vary across the range. With these clip-in filters, I can attach ND filters and shoot video with both RF and adapted EF lenses with no issues. This 6 stop ND was perfect for shooting a music video outside in sunny Los Angeles, and the 1/8 Mist had just a hint of glow to highlights without killing the contrast. I own all three 1/8 mist (0-stop, 3-stop, and 6-stop), and I have one in my camera at all times. Looking to try the 1/4 mist at some point to compare. 5

[Dedicated] I'm not sure how long rear filters have been around, but this is absolutly groundbreaking for astrophotography, as well as other purpose filters ie: Polarizer, Neutral Density, B&W, etc. So much easier, and cheaper, than purchasing numerous front filters and the smudges and dust they attract, not to mention the space those velcro filter holders take up in your gear bag. I'd rather have room for another lens (or two). Simply cover your lens with a UV/protection filter. Lastly, these rear filters are simple and easy to change out. I'll personally just use one camera for astrophotography and will buy a rear Polarizer filter for one of my other cameras for daylight shooting. 5

[0.255 lb] First time using the Kase magnetic filter system. Used this ND on a trip, and being able to instantly add/remove it from my lens was fantastic. Filter itself worked well without a noticeable color cast. Plan on adding other ND strengths to my kit. 5

[Aluminum] I love the colors; the filter snaps into the Canon adapter and fits snugly. The Vari ND wheel spins somewhat freely, similar to the canon version. I wish it had some more tension on the wheel so it would feel more solid. But in no way effects the performance, it's superior to the canon in my opinion. 5
