Q: 1. Can this UPS be used to clean up dirty power from less expensive back up generator?

A: NO! This is not a double conversion design, so it will pass through dirty power, unless you are on battery. This is true for almost all battery backups, as double conversion designs are less efficient.

Q: 2. Can this be used to power strobes as it's a pure sine wave?

A: Yes. As long as your flash head is no more than 720 Watt second. I have tested this UPS with my Profoto Acute2R 2400 power pack with one Profoto Acute/D4 Head. The power pack must be set to the minimum setting of 1/4 power output. Otherwise, the UPS will shut down. Be gentle transporting the UPS to photoshoot locations and ensure the vents near the bottom side panels have proper clearance.

Q: 3. Is it a good idea to unplug the UPS and let the battery do its thing every few months?

A: UPS uses lead acit batteries, AGM type. Discharging them unnecessarily is of no benefit to their longevity. Keeping them charged is a benefit.

Q: 6. I plan to use the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD for my electronics work bench. When doing an initial test of an old radio or test equipment for the first time I bring the power up slowly from a variac. If the variac it getting its power from the UPS would this cause a problem?

A: It should not as long as it does not exceed the UPS capabilities but we could not guarantee it.

Q: 7. Is the coax input protected from power surges?

A: Yes, this CyberPower CP1000AVRLCD Intelligent LCD UPS does protect coax.

Q: 8. I see Windows compatibility but how about Mac compatibility?

A: Yes, it is Mac compatible and compatible with the two NAS servers that I use.

Q: 9. I have 220V, so is a different versin available? Or do you need a transformer

A: This unit doesn't support 220V and we don't have a transformer that will work with this UPS.

Q: 10. Does it work with 220-240 volt plug ?

A: This is for 88 - 140v input only.

[Gray] It works as advertised. I get random power outages in my city where the power goes out for like 1 second and comes right back on. Well, it damaged my surround sounds and tv, both of which stopped working a month apart from each other. I have a suspicion that it was due to the power outage. So I got this item and it took care of that problem and I feel good that my very expensive new tv and new surround sounds are protected. I do recommend this product, price point is really good. 5

[Gray] I just bought this less than a week ago and we just had a power outage the other night and it performed perfectly. I have a a desktop computer, monitor and inkjet printer connected to the battery backup side and I had plenty of time to shut everything down properly. It also caught the power surges that were coming before the power went completely out. It's also a lot lighter than the unit it replaced, so it's much easier to handle and position to where you need it. I will buy another one when I need to replace another unit. 5

[Gray] Works to protect an ancient always-on EeeBox computer. My first one of these lasted about 5 years and I probably could have just replaced the battery, but I decided to wait on that and possibly just keep as a backup (a backup UPS does seem a little redundant). With the monitor off, this keeps the computer on for almost an hour. 5

[Foam] The air filter worked great. I had a problem with the previous filter, so I contacted customer support. I am a subscriber to the filter replacement plan. The customer service department promptly diagnosed the issue and sent a replacement filter. The new filter works well and smells fresh! Thank you! 5
