The 18 x 24" Godox Scrim Flag Kit 18x24" for Photography Lightingfrom Godox Scrim Flag Kit 18x24" for Photography Lightingis a comprehensive set of light-shaping tools to contour and control the light falling on your subject. The kit includes five foldable frames and five fabrics. The frames are open-ended to thwart distracting shadows.

The kit also provides 1- and 2-stop silk screens for subtle diffusion, and 1- and 2-stop black nets to reduce light intensity and add a slight bit of contrast. Godox additionally provides a solid black fabric to be used to block or "flag off" unwanted light from the shot. Ideal for tabletop work or small objects, the kit also contains a 6" diameter solid black and a black net dot, as well as a 4 x 14" solid black and a black net finger. It all fits in a cleverly designed carry case that reveals the screen's color code for easy selection.

The kit contains 5 flag frames and fabric screens to assemble for shaping, blocking, or diffusing the light, as well as 2 fingers and 2 dots to allow more precise adjustments of light on small objects.

The kit offers image makers an easy way to adjust the contrast of the light and dark areas of the subject to conveniently render a personal style by taking control of the lighting scheme.

The black single and double net screens can be used to control highlights falling on the subject and alter the overall contrast.

The 1-stop silk screen provides moderate diffusion, lowers contrast, and opens up shadows while still retaining some snap.

The 2-stop silk screen offers pronounced diffusion for a noticeably soft look.

The solid black fabric is perfect for blocking unwanted light from your subject or creating shadows.

The fabric screens feature industry stand color coding for quick selection on set.

The dots and fingers in black net and solid fabrics allow you to shape light, just like the larger flag and screens, but on a smaller scale for work such as tabletop imaging.

A: In order to have enough room in the case, you would need to remove a least 2 of the flags in the Kupo Open-End Flag Kit.

A: 11.7 lb is for just the Case. The Kit weight listed on the Westcott site is 26.0 lbs./ 11.8 kg.

A: Unfortunately, the Westcott Fast Flags/Nets haven't been tested with the frames in the PortaFrame Kit to our knowledge. The results may vary.

[15.195 lb] This kit contain plenty of choices for a small/medium location job. It's bulky and the case is very heavy. So get a cart or your crew will complain. However, you'll have what you need to most situations and good quality choices. 5

[15.195 lb] The flexibility and portability are unsurpassed. Frames easily collapse and fit into tripod case for travel. One 24x36 scrim covers most single-person liveshot setups in bright sunlight. If needed, two similar scrims can be positioned side by side with the soft edges slightly overlapping to provide more coverage. Now a must-have in the eng kit. 5

[15.195 lb] For $208 Canadian, all in, this is worth every penny! It has everything you need to get an indie film gaffers kit for corporate gigs, interviews, and even short or full form narrative. Warning: you will need more c stands or regular stands and arms and or knuckles, to hold all these flags/scrims. Just a heads up! That being said, I will buy another set, and probably gift a couple sets to some of my indie filmmaking friends. They are working out great for my small projects. 5

[15.195 lb] The black is a little bit porous, so it is not quite the same as a solid object (a bit of light gets through, which you can see through it quite prominently, but not much light will actually spill onto whatever you're flagging.) If your use case requires 0 light through the black flags then you will likely need to try a different option. Overall the quality of the fabrics are so-so. I would not handle them roughly. The kit is generally small and light, for the dimensions (it is just slightly longer than 24", and packs down quite flat.) Once you put the fabrics on the frame, just leave them on to extend the life of the materials (taking them on and off will wear the fabrics, and they fit fine in the case without the fabrics being removed.) Overall, for the price, and for someone that handles things with care, they are a great value, but they do show the cheapness of the price tag, so if you're expecting matthews build quality you will likely be disappointed (you're not paying a matthews price, after all.) 5

[15.195 lb] I had a smaller flag kit that wasn't getting it done so I decided to this kit. If you are looking to have better control over lighting situations I highly recommend this kit. I wish there were at least to solid flags but there is only one in the kit. I've already worked with his on set and it worked flawlessly. The small flags could work but it will be very easy to get a tear in them making them obsolete. You should probably put them in a separate compartment or rigid cardboard to prevent rips in the fabric. Otherwise, for the price this is a great buy! 5
