Straight out of the box- on an "airgapped" computer system (no internet connection), and using just the included software that is packaged with the scanner- is the maximum photo resolution as advertised at 6400DPI? Or is it like Canon quoting a higher number but in reality only giving you the ability to scan with their software at most at 600 DPI?

A: This scanner has an Optical Resolution of 6400 dpi.

Q: 2. I want to use this to scan my 8.5 x 11 inch watercolors, not film negatives. Will it do that?

A: You may scan almost any kind of document, photo, drawing, painting, or sketch.

Q: 3. dos it come with a transformer to use with 240v power (ie, out of the USA)?

A: No. US only

A: The V600 normally comes with a power adapter Model A411B (100-120 AC), but the specifications listed by Epson show that there is a 220-240 VAC adapter (Model A411E) available. It does not say if the V600 can be ordered with this adapter or that it has to be purchased separately.

A: Yes, for private use LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE can be installed on more then one computer as long as it is used with one scanner.

Q: 10. Can the underside of the scanner glass be cleaned? Mine is older and appears a little cloudy.

A: Yes, the other side of glass can be cleaned . Some disassembly works are required.

[Download] Silverfast, when paired with Epson perfection scanners, is the right tool for a great job. I am working with hundreds of negatives that are nearly a century old yet Silverfast SE has the ability to make (and correct) excellent prints from each neg. Silverfast has a software that fits your scanner. 5

[Download] If you used the Epson Software, you are getting something you are familiar with. Probably if you used ANY software.... Except,, it's RIDICULOUSLY higher end. Kinda like a Yugo and a Ferrari... the Yugo is fine,, does what you need. Same result,, you get where you are going. BUT, if you want to REALLY enjoy the ride..... This program PERFORMS at a much higher level. Pictures, slides, negatives,, all selectable from the menu system. Tell it what you have,, pick an output size and quality, then let Silver Fast do the work. 5

[Download] This is my first purchase of a scanner specifically for photos and I wanted to get one that would also do 35mm slides. I researched scanners online and decided on this one and I'm glad I did. It does an excellent job of scanning multiple photos at one time and up to 4 slides at one time. The quality is outstanding and I love the software that comes with it. 5
