The Panasonic would turn over AA batteries faster, four at a time. The Ansmann unit takes a bit longer, but handles 12 AA or AAA at a time, plus will handle C, D, 9V, AND has two USB ports for my phones, cameras, etc. Once charged, it maintains a trickle . Color coded LEDs let you know the status of charge, and even if you've got a bad battery. Have had for close to a year and I can't tell you how many batteries I've kept charged! By the way, buy the Watson batteries from B&H while you're at it.
