The Ikelite DS162 TTL Underwater Strobe, with a US charger, is the long-standing choice of professionals who need a strobe that can be relied on to perform over and over. Made of a lightweight polycarbonate-ABS blend, the DS162 emits a beam designed for proper spread and color temperature with no need for a light-reducing diffuser. Along with flash, the strobe can deliver a 2500-lumen COB LED beam for video work. Large, click-stop dial controls provide intuitive, tactical feedback of exposure settings and are easy to use even when wearing gloves. A slide lock prevents the strobe from accidentally turning on when not in use. The NiMH battery pack attaches quickly and easily with a unique toggle lock that prevents accidental floods. You don't even need to lubricate the O-ring. The strobe front is compatible with older NiMH battery packs #4066.5 or the DS230 strobe battery pack #40066BK.

[TTL] I use this diffusers on a couple of DS161. Shoot with a 7Dmk2, but most of the times I notice the flash too agressive in TTL mode (camera at ISO 100). When you are using a zoom lens an looking for some live form, you cannot adjust in every shoot, so TTL it is almos the best way to go. Anyway, with this products the flash harsh was gone, as well the shadows. I cannot take more pics without these anymore. 5

[TTL] After years of working with a modified tray, I changed it out for the Ikelite with quick release handles. Made for a nice clean setup. The Quick release make it easy to detach the arms and lights so you can work on your camera (change batteries, view photos, etc) and reattach them in seconds. Handles are a good size and comfortable (even with drysuit gloves). There was even a easy way to install a addition bracket for my GoPro without compromising real estate on the tray or added too much additional weight with extra fansenter and brackets. Very happy with the new set up. Ergonomic, comfortable, stable, and the quick release is a great bonus feature! 5

[4.005 lb] I bought the ikelite house obviously to take underwater shots for the beach. nothing to complain about here. Just make sure you slap in a full battery so you don't have to stop and swap it mid swim. It has a slightly positive boyency, not crazy you probably won't notice it. All the controls are accessible tho it might be hard to see the monitor under intense sunlight at the beach. 5

[4.005 lb] These diffusers really do soften the light and I like the effect better than the original plastic Ikelite diffusers. Didn't really notice a decrease in light intensity in the images. 5

[TTL] I did not experience any issues with this housing fitment with my camera. At nearly half the price of the other two manufacturer's models, I'm happy with my decision. As well, the customer service and technical support at Ikelite is very responsive. Simply being able call to speak with a knowledgable person is almost unheard of in this day and age. I need to give a shout out to B&H, their fulfillment/shipping was stellar. I received my product next day. 5

[TTL] I shoot with a pair of DS 160 strobes. In the past I've used the flat diffuser that come with the strobe. In the waters off of North Carolina and NY/NJ we frequently have a lot of suspended partials. While the flat diffuser offers some help against backscatter - i find they also create 'hot spots'. The new dome diffuser create a more even light and knock down more of the backscatter. 5
