I have used it with a couple of audio recording programs and being able to adjust the Gain level on the unit ensures consistent recordings. The AC adaptor is not included, but you don't need one. It will power on sufficiently through the USB cable you use for recording. I also purchased that on B&H with excellent results: Comprehensive USB 2.0 A Male To B Male Cable - 3'. I recommend this product, it makes recording vinyl a breeze.

[0.05 lb] A 1/4-20 female threads on each end to attached additional devices with 1/4-20 male screws.
