16 Channel Nvr Security Camera System

[16] I purchased this NVR for a simple two camera security system on my home. I bought a separate hard drive, which gave me twice the recording capacity for the same price as one that came pre-installed. Installation was easy, thanks to videos on YouTube. It came with the necessary connectors to install the hard drive. I installed the NVR , along with my cable modern and wifi router, in a pantry and it works fine. It is plugged into a good quality surge protector. It make a bit more noise that I expected, but it is not bothersome. Hopefully it will provide years of service.

[16] I was shopping NVR's for some time and was worried about the source of the product (grey market or chinese versions) but B&H has delivered the upgradeable US version in a very timely fashion with quality shipping & packaging. The product arrived in excellent shape. As for the 16 channel Hikvision product. I upgraded from an 8 channel Hikvision version to this 16 channel. Very pleased with the ease of setup, configuration and the feature set of this unit is second to none. A full 16 channel decoding at 1080P or 4 channels decoding with 4K cameras. 4K is the future so wanted to make sure I was ready for it. Be sure to buy as much storage as you can afford as those higher resolutions with gobble up the space. I have Hikvision cameras attached directly to the NVR and have several other non-Hik cameras on the network which the unit identified and connected with no problems. The reason i chose this unit was 4K capability, 16 channel decoding at 1080p, was already familiar with Hikvision software, and the incoming/outgoing bandwidth capabilities (160/256). [8.7 ms (Read)] Have used Seagate for several years with no problems in NVR's for security camera recording. Highly recommend.

It was easy to set up and connect. I used two of them in conjunction with 36 channel NVR and the NVR had no issue seeing the the camera that were contacted to the POE switches. And they had 200 between them.

[2.7 to 12mm] My only issue is that there isn't a 12 camera view available with the NVR seeing as one option it comes with is 12 cameras. I have 1, 4, 8, 9 and 16. 12 would be a nice option to add to the software.
