[0.185 lb] I use the filter on my 28-70 mm f/2.8 Canon lens with a Canon 40D for landscape shots. I had been told that it would make a big difference, but never knew HOW BIG! No more pale, washed out skies and clouds. The filter allows for a more even exposure and the pictures finally look like actual real life! I would highly recoemmend this filter as basic gear for everyone.

[0.15 lb] f/1.4 means you can shoot indoors without flash on autoiso and get minimal noise. 28mm wide angle means you can shoot inside normal rooms or restaurants. That is why I paid a premium for this lens. If I shoot outdoors in daylight, I take the 35 mm/ summicron at f5.6 for optimal picture quality. Atf/1.4 there is considerable light fall of on the sides, which needs to be adjusted in lightroom. Also this 28 mm summilux lens is heavy and big by comparison to f/2.0 lenses. 35 mm and 55 mm give a very natural rendering of the subject. What you see in the view is what you get. 28 mm has a very, distinctive look because of the wide-angle nature of this lens. Environmental Portrait is the buzzword. I am starting to like it, but it is not as flattering on faces as a normal lens, and you have to be within 3 feet of the person to make this lens shine and enjoy the bokeh at f/1.4. That is very close.

[Glass] Bought my first one several years ago to protect my Tamron 28-300 mm lens from damage. Not only did it save the lens, but also eliminated every bit of the haze and shine that ruin great photos. Won't leave home without a haze 2a on the end of my lens!

[0.4 oz / 11.0 g] This lens has a lot of heft. That weight and size for a wide angle is something to get used too. The 1.4 aperture and close, 25 cm, focusing distance allows for great flower and mushroom shots while still showing the surrounding landscape. At f 1/8 the sharpness is amazing, but even wide open the vignetting is not bothering at all to disappear at f 1/2. Having worked with the 28 mm f 1/2.8, I prefer this lens even at its steep price. Star photos with the lens wide open blew me away with none of the noticeable drop-off like the 28 mm at f 1/2.8 or  18 mm at f 1/3.5. Focusing is smooth and accurate. Here is where the wide aperture really shines, as even low contrast subjects like sand or snow attained focus easily. The flange skirt keep dust and humidity out and rapid temperature changes (car to freezing and back) did not result in any fogging. The Canon 24 mm f 1/2.8 failed miserably here to where I kept a towel and desiccant ready every time I got back in the car. So that I even gave up on the image stabilization and auto focus as a reason. I only have one issue, the rubber focus ring covering feels great, but attracts smudges. very different from previous profiled covering that did not smudge. It doesnt impact grip, even with heavy duty gloves control was great.

[58 mm (Front)] This is a new addition to my camera pack and will be used on my D600. I keep a Nikkor 28-300 mm G zoom on the camera and carry a Nikkor 24mm f2.8D. I travel as much as possible and there are dimly lit locations where flash is either not permitted or preferred. This lens will be used in those situations where the zoom lens would require much slower shutter speeds and could result in unacceptable blur. Although it is new and has not been used much I am pleased with its sharpness.

[Pentax K] Great lens, exactly as advertised. I wish I had bought the camera with this lens instead of the stock lens (28 to 55 mm)but now I have both. Easy to focus. Perfect for the camera body.

[0.975 lb] Pros: Easy attachment and detachment to the 28 mm f/2. Sharpness is not affected by attaching this add-on (that I noticed). Exif data is recorded correctly (16 mm). Solid construction. Relatively cheap. The auto-focus works well. Very fun to use! Cons: Heavier than the 28 mm lens it attaches to. Like the 28 mm, not weather sealed. It is not a standalone fisheye lens, so the set up ends up being a bit long and a bit unbalanced. If you have the 28 mm and are interested in fisheye photography, just buy it!
