When one inevitably breaks you can never get the actual replacement, in some cases you don't want to. This clip sandwiches the wire between the foam insert and hold the mic just right where you want it. Need it on the other side, just pop the wire out, flip the clip, and off you go. I always have a few extra in the desk drawer, just in case.
