[Aluminum] This adapter allows me to fully utilize the lens from an old pentax honeywell spotmatic with my Sony A6000. Lens screws onto the adapter easily, and is secure once fully attached; the threading is smooth and matches the lens well. The metal construction allows me to have faith that this adapter will stand up to regular use. Lens performs as intended while attached. Focuses to infinity, and no noticeable vignetting at the corners of the image. I cannot speak to vignetting on a full frame e-mount camera. I was slightly disappointed that no rear lens cap came with the adapter. One was easily purchased separately, so this is hardly a detraction.

[0.25 lb] Was given a telephoto lens & some old Pentax film cameras. I wanted to use the telephoto on my Nikon D7100, but it was not the same mount. Did an on line chat with B&H and was directed to this adapter. As soon as it arrived, I attached it to the camera & then attached the lens. It was a perfect fit for both the camera & the lens & I got some great shots that would have been impossible with my camera without this adapter. Thank you B&H for your great service & quick delivery.

[f/2] I purchased this lens based on the reviews and my need for a short telephoto for a Pentax K-5IIs and Pentax film camera bodies. Initial images were impressive with more careful images revealing a truly spectacular lens. Don't be afraid to shoot this lens wide open, it is supremely sharp at full aperture with impressive bokeh. My use of this lens is for general nature photography, including landscapes and astrophotography. As an astrophotograhic lens, it can be shot wide open with pinpoint stars to the corners of an APS-C sensor, but there is some light falloff until f/2.8. This would be worse on full frame or film cameras. This is an incredible lens and Samyang should be praised for their consistent efforts to produce very fine lenses at a modest cost. Most reviews tell you that you will need to manually stop down this lens as well as focus, but this is not correct for Pentax cameras. I generally shoot aperture priority or manual, and aperture can be selected with the thumbwheel in half or third stops on the camera. Aperture can be automatically selected by the camera with Shutter Priority. This is generally true of all Samyang lenses on modern Pentax DSLR's. I do not subtract a star from the rating for not being auto focus. This is a given and does not detract from the performance.

[96 kHz / 24-Bit] Negative Supply makes a very comprehensive system for scanning film in all formats by using a digital camera and a macro lens. I needed to scan 35mm, so I bought the 35mm LED light source, the 35mm Pro Film Carrier, and the Basic Riser (to which I mounted my digital camera). Everything worked perfectly! By using this system, negatives can be scanned quite quickly, doing an entire roll in a few minutes. Mounting the camera on the riser makes the camera perfectly parallel to the film. The film carrier keeps the film flat and, combined for a good macro lens, my scans were very sharp. Negative Supply's website (www.negative.supply) has a complete explanation of the entire system, including videos on how the various components work.

[3.8 x 3.5 x 1"] I have taken photographs for over 50 years with 35mm film cameras, Canon digital cameras, a medium format RB 67 and a 5x7 Deardorff. The combination of this lens on the Leica M10 Monochrome produces images that rival a 5x7 camera, and you can carry it in one hand. Once you see the sharpness and contrast from this lens you are spoiled and other camera / lens systems seem just a bit off. Warning: whenever you're using your other camera systems you'll be wondering how much better the image could be with this lens.

Get more for your money 2024-05-01 09:59:28

[49 mm (Front)] Nothing against this lens at all but for $ more you can get the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 .And we all know thats why none of the Pentax lens that are between 18mm and 40mm prime lens are being sold.People know that the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 is like having a 18mm,19mm,20mm all the way up to 35mm prime lens all in one lens .And its sharper than the pentax 35mm 2.8 prime lens. Pentax is going to have to reduce the price of this lens. It makes no sense to pay this kind of money for one lens when you get better pictures from the Sigma lens and have 18 lens build into one lens that better and they are all f1.8 .
