[120 VAC, 60 Hz] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Sony Blu-Ray Disc Player and it's so much more than just a disc player! You can also stream content from online entertainment providers!

[4 MB] Hello, I have a 2022 M1 Mac Studio Max, so I attached this Pioneer to the Thunderbolt port in the back via a long usb-c to usb-c cable that allowed me to place it on my desk. Natively the M1 Mac will not recognise a Blu-Ray disc, so you have to download the free beta version of makemkv. Once installed load your Blu-Ray in the Pioneer and let makemkv recognise the disc, click on the disc icon and give it a minute, it will then allow you to review the contents, the rest is up to you. On the right side is a Make Mkv button. It works great in about 25 minutes you will have a digital version of your Blu-Ray. It makes a little noise but not bad. If Mkv is not your codec choice you can convert it with other Mac video apps.

[4.015 lb] The external DVD/Blu-Ray Burner was larger than I expected. But it has to be wide enough to fit a disc inside, so I think its fine. It works well, as expected. So far, I've only burned DVDs with it, but I expect it will do just fine with Blu-Ray. It comes with software for backing up data/pictures/videos, etc. I'm looking forward to using M-Disc to archive pictures and videos. It's supposed to last for hundreds of years if the physical disc is not severely damaged.

Equipment: an external LG Blu-Ray/M-Disc burner (WH16NS40) on a Mac. After more than a hundred discs, I have yet to see a single bad one. I burn at the slowest possible speed supported by the hardware, since I prefer long-term reliability (a habit since my first CD burner 25 years ago—some of my first CD-ROMs are still readable today), and I set my software to verify the burn by default. Verdict: no error yet.

[M-DISC BD-R] This is the best blu Ray disc rewriter on the market. The movie I play so far are very clear and crisp. No jitters at all. I will buy this unit sometime in the near future for another pc that I planning to build.

[Yes] I purchased the BDP-S1700 Blu-ray Disc Player to regain the ability to play DVD discs in my personal library. Connection to my Sony television was easy and it integrates very, very well from an operational standpoint (auto switching to correct input). It's a great unit and takes no time to learn.

[4.015 lb] A very well-built Blu-ray disc burner and works on Mac OS 14 flawlessly.
