[12 VDC] I bought this switch specifically to allow me to transfer files between my computer and NAS faster. My NAS has two Gigabit network ports and my computer (running Windows 10) has one Gigabit network port. My transfer rates were a measly 35-60MB/sec. I put a 10Gb NIC in my computer and used this switch to bind two network ports the NAS was using together to establish a 2Gb port. The interface on the switch is very easy to navigate and understand. First thing I did, of course, is to change the password. Next I did the binding. I don't have a need for a VLAN where it is located but may end up buying another switch in order to seperate my security camera traffic from the computer traffic. I have options now! With files transfers, I am now getting a solid 110MB/sec transfer rates sustained. I'm hoping I can tweak this a bit more to increase it but it is far better than it was before.

[104 Gb/s ] Our year 24 Port Gigabit TP-Link switch gave up the ghost after 11.5 years in continuous service. Confirmed a couple of capacitors inside were budging which is an easy fix but replacing a critical piece of production equipment with something newer and with additional features was overdue. We were deciding between this $250 model and the $350 model and decided on this as the performance was virtually identical and our small office did not need the management tools for advanced virtual networks and multiple switches. We could not be more pleased at the performance, and the benefit of POE so we do not have to use injectors for wi-fi access points or voip phones anymore. This unit is just plug and play.

[Internal] I had an off-brand 16-port gigabit switch. The moment that I switched it out, data moved noticeably faster.

[1x Power LED] Netgear's ProSafe products have always been very dependable in my business. This ProSafe 5-port gigabit switch is perfect for individual workplaces; just plug it in and you will be up and running. I like them so much I keep an extra in inventory for whenever the need arises.

[1x 4-Pin Pump] I chose this motherboard because I cared about having Thunderbolt connectivity, but I also wanted to have a 10 gigabit network port on the circuit board without having to lose a precious PCI slot. I also used all the NVMe channels for four 4TB SSDs and installed the very latest generation of DDR RAM and a RTX 4080 graphic card that being from ASUS as well had the the advantage of being thinner.

[8] Super simple to replace my last non-gigabit rackmount switch.

[1x RJ45] The QNAP does extremely well using auto negotiation on my mixed network. All 10 Gb network cards (OWCPCIE10Gb) from B&H run at rated speeds. Direct 10 Gb transfers between (2) computers with NVMe drives averages slightly over 1 GigaByte/s. Primarily purchased for large backup image and rendered file transfers between multiple computers and a backup server using CAT6a (10'-30') and CAT8 (95'-120') cables. No dropouts during multiple transfers taking place. Plays well with the 2.5 Gb cards and (1) ancient Intel 1.0 Gb card still in the network as well. Also will support up to (8) VLANs, link aggregation and Spanning Tree Protocol. Management is web based, straightforward and easy to set up or change using either the MGMT RJ45 port or web browser connected via the RJ45 or SFP+ ports. Used an SFP+ module to test all SFP+ ports. All port properly negotiate to NIC rated speeds. Switch is quiet even though the twin fans spin at 4k+ RPM. (3) fan curve options in setup. The front and top surfaces stay between 89° to 94°F (pyrometer checked). SFP+ module tops out at 95°F on the exposed faces under load. Rated maximum power is 48.6 watts. Internal DC power supply with a 120V AC cord instead of a clumsy 4+ amp power brick. Have a few more 10Gb cards to purchase yet. Only had it for a few weeks, but it's certainly been doing the job. About the same price as a Netgear 10 port 10Gb managed switch, 4 ports of which are only 2.5Gb. Only about $50 more than a Buffalo 8 port 10 Gb unmanaged switch. A switch that you can grow into instead of out of for a SOHO network. It's a keeper fer shur.
