[0.6 lb] I've used this on pickups from a number of acoustic instruments: violins, mandolins, guitars, etc. It always has a clean sound and the features I need to enhance the quality (if necessary) like a ground/lift switch, impedance switch for the input (instrument/amp) and a filter switch. Plus it's passive so I don't have to worry about phantom power. I love it! 5 |

[Phantom Power] I was looking for an SM-81 to record acoustic guitars anyway - it was recommended to me by a friend who teaches recording engineering - and I thought the bundle was too good to pass up. It did not disappoint. The SM-81 is clearly legendary for a reason. I've now made multiple recordings with it, with several different guitars, and the tracks sit perfectly in the mix with no additional EQ and no fuss. Today I tracked a vocal with it and was stunned by how well it captured my voice. Very very impressed with this mic and I'm not sorry I sprung for the extras. 5 |

[Yes] Small Office, Several large acoustic guitars, several electric guitars. This stand handles the lot where others would only handle so many of the acoustics. The split top part seemed strange at first but now that I've gotten used to it I like it. I can tilt the guitars nicely in either direction with this feature. I didn't know that was important until I had that option. It feels solid, like it will last well. This feels like a good use of my money!!!! 5 |
