Side note- I am almost 6 feet tall and this raises my desk to an appropriate chest height.

[Yes] For voiceover work, I have the base of the arm attached to the back of my desk (without the optional riser), extending above one of my monitors. The arm is easy to position, and it stays firmly in place (no sagging). It is great.

[Yes, 2] I think this size is the best compromise. It's called a 36 but this one is actually almost 40 including the handle. Adjustable top shelf height is a nice feature.
