Apple Macbook Pro 2012 Screen Replacement

[DDR3] My 2012 MacBook Pro is now new again.

[USB-A Male] I use it with my 2012 MacBook Pro. No complaints.

[800:1] I first tried using this screen with my old MacBook Pro 2012 with a USB C to USB 3 cable. It didn’t work-simple video stuttered and the screen stayed dark so I put it in the closet for a few months. Then I got a MacBook Pro 2018 with USB C/Thunderbolt 3 I went on the road and decided to grab this monitor and try it again for editing (premiere pro). It works beautifully. Stunning even. Won’t travel for work without it again!

[960 GB] This worked well in my mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13.

[250 GB] I installed this SSD in a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 13" version 9,2 model. Wow! I became a big fan of SSD drives with my new iMac and the MacBook was looking so pokey in comparison. Now my MacBook has new life, amazingly faster performance. It's the best speed upgrade I have ever experienced with a product. I'm running High Sierra on this book with no glitches. Has 16 gb ram. I highly recommend this especially because new Macbooks are so pricey and Apple has taken away ports I use in the new models, such as Ethernet, DVD drive, Firewire. It's a new machine again. Just be aware you will want to partition the drive with the new Apple APFS as it will not work with GUID. I then migrated my software with Apple migration assistant with only minor glitches to some software icons. Those I fixed by booting in safe mode, then back to normal mode.

I upgraded from 2012 15.4 MacBook Pro, which still runs well but I needed the latest for my consulting project. This laptop is beastly in its speed and processing power. Display is superb and the battery life is 20+ hours every single time. I look forward to carrying this laptop without power cord when I am at clients' site or on the road. I am a management consult and hence usually use office productivity apps but I will need some serious processing power for database and BI apps like PowerBI and Tableaux. I think I have 10 times the processing power I will need. The price is high but in terms of value, it's going to be as good as 2012 MacBook Pro, which still is very good, after 11 years! So, this is a steal for those who are looking for the state of the art technology and the best long-term value!
