[CL13] I very recently purchased a new Mac Pro 6-Core D700. Spending the money (hopefully) where it counts! Ha ha... After some googling around I came to the conclusion that I should aim for the least amount of RAM from Apple as possible, because it's really the simplest component to upgrade yourself and Apple charges an extra $ or so dollars for 64GB of their RAM v.s. an upgrade kit like this OWC! It was really a no-brainer. Anyway, it's been about 3 weeks with this memory and I have to say that I have really been enjoying it :) I'd recommend it for sure. If you know you're going to need some serious memory for multi-tasking or just intensive programs. There's not a better upgrade kit out there! OWC even sends a little tool to help you access the Mac Pro memory where Apple would just suggest using your fingers. Forget using fingers! This Mac is a 5k investment, LOL, I'm gonna treat it with some respect. Much-o thanks for the tool OWC! :D 5 |

[Full-Stop] I purchased this to make an external boot drive for my 2015 MacBook Pro. This device is probably the fastest way to add external storage to my machine since the Thunderbolt 2 ports are far faster than the USB3 ports. Since this Sabrent Thunderbolt 3 enclosure is self-powered, you can use the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter in reverse, making full use of the MacBook's Thunderbolt 2 port and getting super fast transfer speeds, making it suitable for use as a boot drive. I don't have any benchmark utilities, but I copied a large VMware image from the internal Apple SSD to an external 2TB FireCuda 530 and saw an Activity Monitor peak write speed of 1.6GB/sec, which is super fast. The case gets a little warm, but that means that it is effectively sinking heat from the M2 drive. I used this to successfully build and test a system upgrade to Mojave, and will continue to use this to occasionally run modern OS versions that I don't want to permanently upgrade to due to software compatibility issues with old apps I still need to run. Right now, it's Velcro'ed to the laptop lid and holds a 1TB drive waiting to test Catalina, so I can see which apps break before deciding if I want to take the plunge. All in all, it's perfect as an external drive for my older MacBook Pro, it's well priced, and extremely well constructed. I'll continue to use it for the rest of the life of this machine, and it'll still be useful if I upgrade to a more modern machine later. 5 |

[14.2"] Absolutely love my new MacBook! I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, but what I always appreciate about Apple products is that they just work right out of the box with minimal setup and little fuss. With just a few clicks the transfer assistant had my data from my old MacBook migrated over with ease. This was a big upgrade for me since I was coming from a late 2019 Intel Macbook Pro with only 8GB of RAM. I tend to use a lot of tabs in Safari, while simultaneously working in multiple Adobe Creative Cloud apps, a VMWare virtual Machine, and occasionally SketchUp. While my previous laptop would begrudgingly (slowly) support that workflow, it was increasingly obvious that 8GB of RAM wasn't sufficient for my needs. So after much thought and research I opted for the base M3 Pro chip over the upgraded chip M3 Pro and went with a model with 36 GB of RAM instead, and I couldn't be happier! I look forward to really unlocking the performance of this new M3 Pro Macbook Pro as time goes on. And the space black color is gorgeous! 5 |

[21:9] I have a 2016 MacBook Pro. With the 1 USB-C cable provided with the monitor, I'm able to send the video and audio signal to the monitor, use the monitor's USB hub, and charge my MacBook, all through the 1 cable. I selected the preset "text mode" on the monitor, since I'm a software engineer that looks at text all day. It's very crisp and easy on the eyes. I have it vesa mounted to my desk. So far, I've had no issues with this monitor. I'm very impressed! 5 |
