[0.1 lb] using this to connect a new Macbook Pro laptop to an older Apple 24 monitor. Monitor still looks great, and this adapter works perfectly to prolong the life of this 10-year old monitor. 5 |

[Yes, 2x 5 W] I purchased this monitor to use with both a MacBook Pro and a Linux Workstation. The USB-C connector links the MacBook Pro and provides power to it as well. I connect to my Linux Workstation via a DisplayPort connection, and can easily switch between them using the selection button at the bottom of the monitor. The monitor also has 2 USB-A ports which I use to provide power to charge my keyboard and mouse (or trackpad). [A standard HDMI connector is available as well.]. The monitor is bright and clear. At 4K resolution, it is not as clear as a 5K retina monitor, but it is less than half the price of a smaller 5K monitor and, unless your work depends critically on that extra resolution (or slightly higher color fidelity), this is a great monitor that should work well for you too. The Ergo stand works as advertised and is very flexible and easy to use, and is also quite sturdy. The monitor also includes built-in speakers that are fine. If you need really high quality sound, then you probably want to get some external speakers. For day-to-day use, the speakers work well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking an external monitor. 5 |

[0.295 lb] I used this to connect an old DVI monitor to a new MacBook Pro Retina. It frees up a Lightening connector and works absolutely flawlessly in this application. Could not find this item anywhere else. 5 |

[5120 x 2880] I’m running this beautiful monitor from a 2023 MacBook Pro, with the Apple M2 Pro chip, and couldn’t be happier. Installation was simplicity itself. It is positioned at a ninety-degree angle to a very large east-facing window, and the standard glass performs brilliantly for me, without glare or annoying reflections. The Nano Texture glass would have been an unnecessary expenditure in this particular situation. My order was filled within hours, and arrived overnight with free shipping. Perfect. 5 |

[10' / 3 m] Working great to attach my 24 Viewsonic monitor to a MacBook Pro at much lower cost than Apple solutions. 5 |

[Yes, HDR10] I bought two of these to use with my MacBook Pro M1 Max as a video editing workstation. ***Note that the only way I was able to display 4K at 60 hertz on both monitors simultaneously was to plug BOTH monitors directly to the MacBook via USB-C to DisplayPort cables. Once I did that and stopped trying to get them to work through the Thunderbolt 4 Dock I have, everything looks excellent.*** The resolution is great, as I can have Premiere Pro open on both monitors with one of the two showing the footage in the program window at close to actual size, which helps to see all the detail of the 4K image while editing. Colors look really good, and while this isn't a reference monitor designed for color grading Hollywood movies, it's plenty accurate for my videography work. Aside from video editing, text is super sharp and crisp, and photos and websites look excellent. Since it's an LCD, black levels are never going to look as inky black as they do on an OLED display, but that's to be expected. You can always get a small OLED TV to use as a makeshift client reference monitor. I originally wanted the Apple Studio Display, but at $1600 for one monitor, it was way too expensive for me. On Black Friday, I was able to snag TWO of these Asus ProArt 27 displays for under $800. That's less than half of ONE Apple display! Sure, it's not made of shiny aluminum, but who cares? Image quality is all I need, and this delivers in spades. Plus, they come with VESA mounting holes in the back as standard, so I was able to place them on a two-monitor VESA mounting arm and free up a bunch of space on my desk. I know the Apple display is 5K and this one is 4K, but two 4K monitors side by side get me way more resolution and work space than one 5K monitor. All in all, I heartily recommend this Asus ProArt 4K monitor to anyone looking for a high-res 27 LCD for content creation and general computing on a Mac (as long as you plug it in directly and not through a docking station). 5 |
