[Tray] Just updated my desktop to brand new HP running Windows 11 Home. Love the new HP but it came without an optical drive … and maybe I’m old fashioned, but I still want one to load software/drivers and play dvds and music. This LG drive installed and operates flawlessly .. and the bundled software is excellent. Don’t hesitate with this one … easy buying decision … winner!

[Download] I've been using protools for about 10 years in my recording studio and I think is the best software for record, edit and mix music. I got this version for working in my laptop and now I can work everywhere. The native plug ins woks very well and you can get others of your preference that run well too. For shure I will continue using protools in the future.

[Up to 96 kHz ] I’ve been using IK Multimedia audio software for years on a Windows PC platform. This was my first hardware purchase in order to use my iPad as a portable recording studio. You can use the iRig HD 2 to get extremely low latency when using and recording with your iOS apps (and also Windows PC platform) but my primary reason for this purchase is to have a robust yet compact portable audio interface for recording my guitar. IK Multimedia is well known for being makers of high quality audio software and hardware and this inexpensive interface is no different. It’s made of robust plastic and will allow you to connect to a several connecting ports like iOS lightning interface, USB, USB-C and also comes with the necessary cables for each! I plug my guitar into the iRig and run a cable from the amp output direct to my amp. I then plug a lightning cable from the iRig to my iPad. I use an app from Jam Origin called MIDI Guitar 2 which allows me to use my guitar as a real-time MIDI controller to then play my virtual synths. I then run the headphone output of my iPad to the monitors for the accompanying sounds. This is a great inexpensive interface that you will get a lot of mileage from.

I needed this particular model because of the software I will be using, mainly Pro Tools for audio recording and Pro Tools hasn't yet caught up with the new i7 model software. I also needed a model I could upgrade the RAM with in case I do film editing with Final Cut Pro, so this worked out great, economical and useful. Thanks B and H, I look forward to the day I can buy a Netflix approved camera and a Zeiss lens, or two...

[16 lb] I purchased this in 2022 for a new music studio. It is a great compact 16x4 channel audio mixer. Includes 4 stereo input channels as well as 2 internal effects buss. While it is no longer in production by PreSonus, nor directly supported, you can still get current up to date software and drivers and applications from PreSonus, technical support discussions via email and plenty of user discussions and templates on how to use it. Fully automated, it can be augmented with the free PreSonus Capture & Universal Control software to connect from a computer hands free in Windows & even set up as the default Windows Audio device. Mac users also! Although my review is August 2024, it is still my only digital mixer in the studio. I would suggest buying any protection offered by B&H. This mixer has both a Firewire and a USB specific model, so make sure you understand the interface if you will be using this with a computer. There are plenty YouTube videos on many topics regarding this device. There is even training software offered from many vendors that cover the mixer functionality in great depth. PreSonus has many videos on functionality with its DAW software Studio One.
