[Dedicated] Auto focus system works well for an ultra wide. Images are sharp throughout aperture range with little or no vignetting. Very easy to capture tight spaces, with extremely close minimum focusing distance. Not ideal for group shots as the stretching sets in around edges and in center but captures large groups great if you don’t mind the slight distortion. Colors are as fantastic as my Samyang XP 85. Astrophotography is great with this lens, no easily detectable coma.

This lens is absolutely amazing. Tack sharp in all ranges. Auto focus and VR system is very fast and keeps up with rapid fire even with 1.4x teleconverter iii attatched.

[Zipper] This camera is the hidden little gem of the camera world. Its only real weakness is the auto-focus system, which is not phase-based but contrast-based. This leads to slow auto-focus performance. Also, there is no in-body image stabilization, like the Sony A7 series. Those are the main complaints. Everything else is amazing. Superb color science and IQ, cinema-grade video, phenomenal low-light performance. I moved over to the fp from a Sony A7iii, which was a fine camera. But this camera...I just have fallen in love with it. It has changed my photography game drastically. I expect the Mark II will use a phase-based auto-focus system, fixing the major weakness with this platform. For IS, you have to rely on IS lenses.

[16 VDC] Used for alarm system power supply. Auto resetting fuse and operating green LED is a great feature that was not on the Pittway.

I bought this camera coming from the Canon system because I needed an auto focus system that was just flat out superior. My canon kept missing focus at a regular rate, and I needed a camera system that was much more reliable in terms of auto focus. The Sony a7R4 provides me everything that I need for portrait photography. I see a lot of folks saying that this camera is not for portraits, that it’s more of a landscape camera system. Because of the high megapixels it’s not as good for portraits because it introduces more noise at higher ISO’s. I just haven’t found that to be true. I am a wedding photographer and have had no issues whatsoever with the Sony a7R4. It works perfect for all my portrait photo shoots. I love the flexibility of being able to significantly crop into a photo with that 61 megapixels of glorious resolution. I can see how one might be hesitant to get the a7R4 if they are already in the Sony system. But for me coming from the canon universe, It made more sense to just jump to the high end, most current version of the camera. I’m not disappointed, I have no regrets, and I absolutely love it.

I installed 3 Savage Seamless background paper (107x 12yds) by myself, now is extremely easy to use the chain to have the paper you want. Also you could use any paper size with this system. If 107 is either too big or small for you just order the right paper and this system will take care of it.
