[0.4 lb] I absolutely love the OpenMove Bone Conduction headphones. I use them frequently for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, streaming and recorded music. And let's not forget phone calls. The sound clarity and control buttons make it easy to switch to a phone call and have complete use of the phone. I have recommended them to several of my friends and enjoyed them as well

[0.45 lb] I’ve been using the Shocks Open Air Headphones for a few weeks now, and while it took some time to get used to them, I’m really pleased with the results. Initially, they hurt my ears a bit, likely because I wear glasses, but now they’ve adjusted just fine. I love that I can hear my surroundings, and unlike bone conduction headphones, they don’t cause itching in my ears. The sound quality is awesome. My only minor complaint is the battery life – they don’t last as long as my previous bone conduction headset. However, the case doubles as a charger and can power them up in 10-15 minutes, which is perfect since I use them for over 10 hours a day.

[2] This is my third set of Shokz bone conduction headphones. They are sooo Light weight. Very comfortable. Often I need to check to see if I'm wearing them. Unlike in-ear headphones, these allow hearing traffic which is important for walking and running. They maintain a good charge all day.

[Closed-Back] I have other brand bone conduction headphones for listening to podcasts and other media with just voice. However, I needed headphones with better sound for music and also excellent noise canceling. The WH1000XM5B headphones provide both superb audio quality as well as "best in the market" noise canceling. The noise canceling feature also allows amplified passthru of the ambient sound with a press of a button (or temporarily simply by placing a hand over the right earphone). The passthru appears to be accomplished by using microphones in both earphones to pick up the sound from each side, amplify it, and supply it to the headphones. This stereophonic design also provides the ability to hear from which direction the sound is coming from.

[Yes] Sounds are conducted to our auditory nerves (Cranial Nerve VIII, or CN VIII) through two conduits: air and bone. Air is the one familiar to most of us - sound waves in the air enter the ear canal. They make the ear drum vibrate, which makes tiny bones in the middle ear vibrate (these tiny bones are not to be confused with bone conduction, described next), which send information to CN III. The other pathway is bone conduction. A vibrating object, say a tuning fork, or the contact surfaces of these headphones, in direct contact with the skull bones, send the vibrations directly to CN VIII. Cranial Nerve VIII then sends the information to the brain's auditory processing center. These bone conduction headphones are fantastic because they induce sound fidelity that is almost as good as ear buds. But since they are not in the ear canal, they are supremely comfortable. I am able to wear them all day, listening to podcasts, making calls, etc, with none of the annoyance and discomfort of ear buds. Is music fidelity equal to my AirPods? Not quite. But I don't use earbuds for music anyway, so it is not a concern. Bottom line: if you like earphones for non-music purposes, or music but are not concerned with the highest possible fidelity, then I highly recommend these for their utility and comfort.

[2] I'm thrilled with this product and use it daily. I like it better than bone conduction or traditional earbuds. I hope it is popular enough for a second edition, I'd buy it.

[Yes] These bone conducting headphones are perfect when working out or working around the yard and getting sweaty. No issues with water affecting the speakers as my old headset.
