Best Day Backpack For Hiking

[5.055 lb] I used this backpacking and camping and have it clipped to my day hiking backpack.

[Universal] I just got home from a 2 week trip to Chamonix, France where this backpack served as my carry on luggage, hiking backpack, and day pack. It's been everywhere between sea level and about 12,000 feet in elevation, dragged across airports, dragged across rocks, subject to rain, heat, and wind - and snow snowballs - and it looks as good as the day I took it out of the box! Things I especially love: - Fits my 5'2 female self. I've been photographing for 20+ years and this is truly the first bag I've ever found that feels like it wasn't designed for a 6' tall dude. - Made for adventure. I'll be able to use this on backcountry ski adventures (it even has a helmet, ski, and snowboard carry system!!!) and will absolutely continue to use it for hiking. It's reinforced with all the right materials in all the right places. - Incredibly well thought out functionality and design. Super easy to get to my camera gear, but keep it safe and hard for any less-than-honest passerby's to get at. Also one of the front chest pouches can fit a passport AND an iPhone 13/14. Super happy I purchased this bag!

[0.375 lb] I use my everyday backpack every day, and hiking is no exception. No matter how much is tuff in my bag, I know I can hike comfortably placing a lot of the weight on my hips. When I don’t need the hip belt, it’s super easy to either fold into the luggage pass through on my backpack or just pack away in the included carrying case. The loop and hook mechanism gives me confidence that I won’t have another broken plastic buckle to deal with, another genius move by PD. I haven’t tried the capture clip as I don’t have one, but I’m sure it’s a huge bonus.

[0.375 lb] Purchased Everyday Hip Belt for use of Everyday Backpack Zip on hiking trips. It was made carrying the backpack effortless and made hiking trips more enjoyable. Reduced weight of bag and access to contents much easier. Can highly recommend.

[Zipper] MindShift Gear has done it again!   I find that the PHOTOCROSS 15 BACKPACK from thinkTANKPhoto/Mindshift Gear is an outstanding backpack for hiking with, for example, a Nikon Z7, 4 lenses (including a Nikkor 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 Zoom with FTZ Adapter attached!), and accessories. I cannot say that about too many other backpacks or shoulder bags! Additionally, this backpack will accommodate a Flashpoint R/2 flash with dome light modifier, batteries, filters, camera strap, and other accessories. The YKK zippers are waterproof and smooth. The exterior is a water-repellent material that seems quite durable for hiking, setting down on rocky surfaces, etc. The side access with the backpack on one shoulder is handy, as are the robust handles on top and one side. The straps and nice padding are all top-notch, adjustable, and quite comfortable indeed! The side pouch is yet another convenience. Overall, I highly recommend this PHOTOCROSS 15 BACKPACK for the landscape/nature/ hiking photographer!

[Gray] It is everything it was advertised to be. I can now take with me what I need on day trips without the need for a backpack. It is much more convienient.
