Plug and play driver installation via Windows Update; manual driver installation on macOS. Dock does not charge host PC. [2.29 lb] I have been using the docking station for about 3 weeks. tried both the e-sata connection and the USB3 cable. I using the device as a storage point for system backup. The read write speed is nearly twice the speed for the usb3 is nearly twice the spe3ed of the e-sata connection. I have not experienced issues with the HDD failing to register with the OS. the docking station has been highly reliable. 5 |

[Yes] I've gone through 3 other brands of SATA drive docking stations, and with most of them I've had trouble getting drives to mount, where the docking station will give up trying to mount the drive if it can't mount the first time. With the StarTech docking station I am pretty much guaranteed that the drive will mount, as the docking station will keep trying to mount the drive until it succeeds. I also like how the indicator light changes to blue when a drive is mounted, and to pink when the drive is unmounted. 5 |

[1x SKVM Male] I bought this to see if I could get dual monitor operation from my HP docking station. It was very easy to install, and after a few display adjustments, went right to work. I am very pleased with the display quality, which I attribute in part to the cables construction. I would purchase this same adapter/cable again for other applications. 5 |

This docking station was easy to set up. The quality of it seems to be nice and the docking station looks premium. It seems to be working flawlessly for what I need.
